I think it's bad if you pull people over for things you do. I don't pull anyone over for dark tint.

Cops should get a pass with tint...I don't want to be going to dinner with my girl and pull up next to some guy I arrested. Seriously man I've seen people out who I have f'n arrested. That's a crappy part about the job.

I was just trying to give you a hard time. That is a hell of a good reason for a cop to have illegal tint. I have had my fair share of tickets but never have blamed the officer for it. Stay safe.

I have 35% tint all around my 2007 saturn ion 2. I also have a $3500 entertainment system in the car with dvd player, backup camera, Bluetooth phone and top of the line Boston acoustics sound system with door and body sound dampening. I love riding in my car!

First thing I thought of when I saw this thread, and I'm frankly surprised it wasn't posted by someone else yet:

...anyway, no I have not pimped out my 1997 Pontiac Sunfire. It's going to fall apart soon so it's really not worth it. That, and I have no money with which to pimp out said car.

How much am I willing to do to any particular car? Maybe repaint it.

I spent a fair bit of my own money putting some nice 19's on my work car (black 2007 Toyota Aurion, don't think the Aurion were released where you guys are). I then managed to hit some nasty potholes following wet weather that had left the roads all beat up doing a work trip so two of them were damaged. Swapped back to the stock rims and learnt my lesson....

It did look a lot better with the rims but i don't think i could be bothered doing it for my next car in 2 years.

Rims aren't mean't for off roads or jacked up streets that is for sure. Pimping out cars isn't an age bracket thing, region thing, race thing or even gender thing, for I know a lot of women with pimped out Jettas and PT cruisers

And I know plenty of married men in their 40s, 50s and 60s that is riding around in pimped out full sized conversion vans.

I can't justify spending any kind of money on my car other than cleaning it every once in a while and making sure it works. From a financial perspective, cars and car accessories might be one of the worst investments out there.

Exactly. it's all about personal taste. If you like your car to look a certain way and you have the money to do it then go right ahead. People try to make it sound like others their age don't do it.

The only money I spend is the money to buy it, and the service costs. No desire to waste money on "pimping" a car.

Pretty much the only thing I've ever done to my cars has gotten the windows tinted if they didn't come with one. I'm past the point of booming my music while riding around, and I usually get a slight speaker upgrade (BOSE or something) when I buy the car so that's good enough in the sound department for me....I don't do rims or TVs in my vehicles.
