Getting ready to finally fully retire my PS2...did some calculations

I've been easing into current gen, having been playing The Show, CH 2K8, and PES for about the last year or so. I've been hanging onto my NHL Hitz Pro and Madden/NCAA on PS2 b/c I've liked the gameplay better. I can't play HItz Pro anymore b/c I've played it so much I've gotten too good and can't lose. Also, I think I'm finally ready for the leap this year with NCAA 11.

I did some rough estimates based on season's I've had on the following games just to see how much I've actually played my beloved PS2 all these years:

    Madden 2002 (~ 6 seasons)
    Madden 2003 (~ 6 seasons)
    Madden 2004 (1 season)
    Madden 08 (4 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2003 (5 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2004 (6 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2005 (8 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2006 (6 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2007 (5 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2008 (7 seasons)
    NCAA Football 2009 (3 seasons)
    March Madness 2003 (4 seasons)
    Winning Eleven 8 (2 seasons)
    High Heat 2004 (1 season)
    MVP Baseball 2004 (3 seasons)
    NHL Hitz Pro (5 seasons)

Roughly, that's about 2,100+ games (no simming), and at an hour per game estimate, that's about 3 months worth of solid gaming, not counting the countless hours rostering, messing around, playing other people, and games I tried I ended up not liking and not finishing a complete season. I need to throw "old reliable" a retirement party when I finish up my last season I'm having on Madden 08 right now (week 13 with Chargers).

Just thought I'd share and see if anyone out there can beat me.

I get you, well, I was/am married the whole time, and working full time (well, part of that time I was fnishing up graduate school). Traveled with my PS2 on the road a lot for my job. I was traveling probably 2 weeks out of the month. Plus, my wife goes to bed super early, so instead of watching TV I was playing games. That's also spread out over 2001-2010. I'm not proud of it, just got me curious when I thought about it.

Are you going to actually get rid of your PS2? I'd keep it even if you don't play it anymore in case your next-gen system breaks down or if you just want to go back and have some nostalgic old times. I still break out my old Xbox at times.

Oh, and by the way, if you haven't played BLACK, you haven't played a next-gen game on the PS2. it's a must!

Oh, I'm going to keep it, for sure. Actually, right now since my daughter broke my DVD player's disc tray, it's serving as my bedroom DVD player. I'm surprised it hasn't broken yet. It's my original and almost 10 years old.

I been reitred mines......I am not going to lie a spend a hell of a lot of times playing video games, especially this generation. Sports games look so realistic now that I can't help but to play it. That combined with the modernwarfares, UFC, dragon ages, mass effects and now splinter cell.........thousands of hours indeed.

Hell I even got games on my Droid that I play when I am lunch break at work or stuck in the doctor office or something,
