Re: Nervous about college... don't make fun of me lol
I agree completely with the b_geno and Longhorn posts.
The only thing I can add on to what they said is that once you figure out what you want to do or major in, get involved quickly. Get a job in the related field, volunteer, secure internships, really anything. It'll go a long way in finding a better job once you graduate college.
That's my one regret.
Also, being with a bitch for a girlfriend my first year and half of college.Comment

Re: Nervous about college... don't make fun of me lol
Bumping this old topic, but I just wanted to let you guys know that this weekend was my orientation and at first it was kind of awkward but it's easy to make friends or groups of friends. It was a little more than a day but I already had groups of people I could just go up to and have a good time with or strike a conversation up with.
We stayed up until 1AM at a dance party (no alcohol). Definitely a lot of ladies. I think the guys are heavily outnumbered in my school, and most of the chicks in the college I'm going to ranges from decent to hot. A lot of cuties as well (mostly what I go for).
I was the only guy in their nursing meeting, and there were a ton of girls. Good thing probably, but that just makes me nervous not to make me look like a fool out there in front of all the girls. hahaComment

Re: Nervous about college... don't make fun of me lol
So you've decided on nursing? Great career choice. Stick with it. My sister and her boyfriend are nurses and both enjoy it very much.
As for the ladies: just be yourself, man. You're already on the good end of averages."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Nervous about college... don't make fun of me lol
I'm so nervous going to college next year. I still haven't even made my mind up but I pretty much don't know anyone in the college I'm going to, and I haven't ever been too far from home so sleeping with another person (no homo) in the room will be awkward. Anyone got any tips or advice for anyone first going to college next year? I haven't even finished my senior year yet and look how nervous I am already lol.
And it's not that I don't like to have a good time. I love to party and all that but I just don't know about this whole college thing... every time I think about it I worry a lot. Haha... just something to post here since I haven't posted in a while either.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I don't go to school (Yet) but my sister tried to be a nurse...It's very hard. It's a pretty good feat to accomplish. Hope it goes well.Comment

Re: Nervous about college... don't make fun of me lol
It's not hard at all, it's just not a blow off like something in liberal arts, the college of business, or a social science. It takes time and dedication, and anyone of average intelligence can go through a nursing program if they are willing to devote the time it takes to learn what you're suppose to learn.
There are plenty of people who declare nursing as their major that never make it because they treat it like it's english/history/psych 101 and it's not.
Don't confuse hard with time consuming, there's a huge difference.Comment

Re: Nervous about college... don't make fun of me lol
What up matt. I haven't read through the entire thread so I'm surr this has probably been said already but ill say it again. As far as the work, you should be fine as long as you manage your time. Don't wait until the last minute to do s*** and don't let the slackers (and you will encounter so many of them) talk you out of getting your work done. The key to college is time management.
And socially, you'll be just fine. I remember my first day at NSU. I was a commuter and I was nervous as hell driving to school thinking about how it was going to be. After that first day though, everything was cool. I miss school. Can't wait to go back and get my masters in AugustSimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

All I know is, my college experience was killed because I lived 10 minutes away from campus, and I transferred from community college anyway.Comment
