Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
100% agreed, this is why i didn't want to go this route. That reason is why one should never want to go this route. I relayed those concerns to the owner but she said they were very professional and would not harbor a grudge. I find that pretty hard to believe. I'm going to dot my i's for sure when I move out. And I don't mean like ohio state dotting the I but that did come to mind just now when I typed that, LOLStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Quick question, how do people in Africa survive if it's not safe to be in an environment over 85? Hell, I'd have to move from Arizona if that were true lolNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
this is getting crazy. I moved into my house 4 years ago in June and the week I moved in my central air broke down and exactly two days later the temp was 98 deg
the wife was 6 months pregnant and almost divorced me untill I fixed it.

Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
Just went through this myself this past week. A/C broke down and it was like pulling teeth to try to get someone to fix it.
I was nice to our property manager for 2 days. I live here in Central Florida so the temperature in our house got up to 92 degrees.
Finally my wife called the management company and said she will not give them their rent for the month...and for every night we have to stay in a hotel while our house is too hot to be in...we would be deducting that from rent too...and that if it wasnt fixed asap...we would not renew the lease and go elsewhere. Wouldnt you know we got set up with an AC company within 5 mins of that conversation.
Problem is that this was the 3rd time in under the year we have been here that the AC has gone out.
Sure hope you get your issue worked out. Where I am at , all the companies are shady since all the actual homeowners are foreign and unable to be here to check the work. Spout on our sink stopped working and they can and replaced the entire sink and charged the owner $800 for 2 hours of work and the same exact sink was at Lowes for $120.Comment

I remember after Hurricane Gustav we were without power for about 8-9 day's with temps pushing 100. It was Pure HELL!! So, I can definitely sympathize with ODogg.
Have you consider maybe going to Wal Mart and buying on of the small air conditioner's? http://www.walmart.com/search/search....y=2&Find=Find Then, once they fix your A/C assuming they do, you can return it . Just be sure and check you receipt about the return. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
Here is what Realty Solutions said to the Better Business Bureau yesterday in their reply:
I just sent to you a sampling of the email correspondence with Mr. Shaun Hough as it relates to his air conditioner repair. Please note that I did provide ETA to Mr. Hough. The ETA information was obtained from the manufacturer.
As I stated last week, we ordered the parts from a second manufacturing company. This order was placed with ABS Heating and Cooling. One of the parts has arrived in my office. We are awaiting the second part and expect to receive it by the middle of next week.
Realty Solutions would again like to offer Mr. Hough the opportunity to terminate his lease. We would accept a 30-day notice from him to vacate. As Mr. Hough has been told previously by the owner, Mrs. Sheedy, we are willing to place a window unit in the home. We are be willing install the window unit if prior to the receipt of the parts we experience 3 consecutive days of temperatures at 80 degrees.
Thank you,
Debbie Rogers

Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
Here is my reply to the above comment to Realty Solutions:
Eta has never been a firm date. I have been told 7 to 10 days many times though and that has come and gone many times. Also, I have no confirmation or paper work whatsoever to prove any of Realty Solutions claims about parts received or even that any parts have actually been ordered.
Rent payments going forward, as of June 1st, will be put into an escrow account with Franklin County courts per the advice of my attorney.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I have requested a temporary A/C unit. How much does anyone here want to bet they drag their feet on that too??Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
jeremym - if they don't get an A/C temp unit at my house soon i'll have no choice but to do that, go to Walmart or Best buy and get a $120 unit. I'd like to avoid it if possible obviously but the way they worded their request above make (3 days of heat above 80 degrees) makes it seem as if they are going to be very technical and lawyerly about even the temporary unit like they are being with the main unit.
Honestly when I moved into this place I never dreamed I'd have this issue. The place seemed very responsive to all of my requests. However I guess a $2500 bill staring them in the face for a new A/C unit is enough to make them balk pretty hard.
They keep putting in there they will let me out of my lease, which I very much appreciate it, but to me the fact they keep putting that in there almost makes it seem like a threat to me, as in "get out" instead of "we'll let you out if you want".Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Landlord won't fix my A/C - any ideas?
Landlords can be shady, no question about it. I ran into something similar a couple of years ago and eventually just moved out b/c they kept dragging their feet on the repairs I had requested.
I hope it all works out for you. I know moving is a pain, but it may not be a bad idea to shop around.Currently Playing:

I'd take it to Judge Judy. If they want you to move I'd sue them for moving expenses and have a moving company move me.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
