Re: Teacher abuses child in classroom

To people saying let his parents deal with it. Well, it's debatable the parents are doing anything seeing as how the kid is in this situation in the first place.

With that said, she went way over the line. When you work at these places you have to have the proper mindset and always keep your cool. I worked with at risk youth and they would punch, kick, spit, and call me every name in the book. Did I want to put some of them through a window? Yes, but I realized that I was the professional and the adult and had to behave accordingly as part of their growth and education process. My co-workers always told me, once you show these kids that you're letting them get to you, you've lost.

I've heard horror stories from some of my friends and their wives who teach. My wife's cousin teaches at a respectable school and he had a kid spit in his face because the kid didn't want to do his homework. If that was me, that kid would've gotten destroyed.

Not saying what she did was right, but she probably had enough.
I do teach and over half of my kids are below basic in reading, math and science. No level of frustration would cause me to put my hands on one of them. If kids get to you THAT much, you are in the wrong career field.

You are a teacher to be a part of the solution, not part of the problem.

The bigger point is what he did to get attacked right there. You can hear in the video he had done something to the "girl". Whatever that is...is why she snapped.

She snapped for sure, but that's no excuse for showcasing your ground-and-pound on a kid.

He's probably a brat, but a teacher can't attack and demoralize a 13-year old like that.

apparently this teacher missed the memo somewhere along the way...

You're supposed to **** the kids...not beat them.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Well that was wrong. She should have kept her cool, nothing says Respect me like a call to the principals office and a nice long suspension. Ugh...another sign the world is changing.

Look, if the parents let their kids get like this and don't want to 'parent', then they shouldn't say a damn word when someone else takes care of that for them.
I agree, if some parents did their jobs correctly the teachers and admins wouldn't have to do it for him.

The kid doesn't have any respect for authority figures, that is why he is in a high risk school. His mother obvious didn't discipline him enough or he is just beyond help. Getting suspended isn't going to do anything for this kid.

And neither will having his teacher dropping bombs on him. Here's a thought....let the administration do what they are paid to do. Can't take the law into your own hands--literally.

I didn't say it was. And I'm sure she's going to suffer consequences from it...but I can see why it happened.

I thought they were just playing at first, you can hear laughter in the background, and she draws a line and bows up all funny like. The kid is smiling in the corner with his hands held up, and she pulls him away. It's all pretty comical. Then she starts hitting him, and you're like what? Ok, is she making contact. First couple of times, no, but then a solid two or three hits.

The teacher should do some time for looking silly while fighting, being such a bad shot, oh, and for hitting the kid too.
