Off topic slightly. Do you guys read over your receipt before you sign it when paying by credit card? I'm awful at not checking it.

A girl I know is a waitress and she rang in a guy at the register. His bill was like 42 bucks and change. He wrote on the receipt to round it up to an even $50 for her tip. She rings it through and mistakenly types in $5000! She didn't notice and he didn't either as he just signed the receipt without looking and left. Fortunately the restaurant picked up the error at the end of the night and notified the man before it went through his account. The girl still got fired though.

My mom and I apparently got a free meal at Boston Market a couple months ago. Since I can't drive, she comes to take me grocery shopping every couple weeks when I need a lot (I take the bus when I just need a few things) and we usually go for dinner in the process. Well, the one night she paid with her bank card and it never appeared on her statement.

I'd give back $2,000, but I don't think I would tell them if they didn't charge me for a taco.

Crazy talk. Back when I used to work at a Taco Bell when I was a teenager I used to close so I routinely saw/did the books at the end of the night. My Taco Bell would pull in 6-7k per day and I had even seen it at over 10k in a single day a handful of times.

            2. It's stealing no way else to put it, and I'm not a thief.

            3. The man upstairs knows, and I'm scared of him more than the police.

            4. Because morality says," it's the right thing to do".

            5. Nothing good will come of it, for you or the other person. You'll get punished some kind of way in the end.
I'd now like to present my screwed up mind's answers to those reasons, as I read them.
            1. "If they're too stupid to do their drive thru job correctly, they deserve to lose their job."

            2. "Labels shmabels, it's 2,000 freaking bucks!"

            3. I'm going to omit this one, because it would way violate the TOS and offend every believer here.

            4. "Morality? Who needs morality when you have a 3D TV?"

            5. "Nothing good? Money buys happiness. And happiness is good."

            I'm messed up.

If they pulled in $6,500 an averaged $7 an order, that is 928 orders that came through in 1 day. Impossible.

And seeing as it's a taco bell, it's more like $5 or less an order since poor people like me will get a couple dollar menu items and a water.
