But I guess they never know what they're dealing with, so I can see their perspective.
It's supposed to make people nervous. If they are talking to someone who is guilty of something, more then likely they will be able to tell by how they react to his forceful tone. If they are being all buddy buddy then the person has no reason to be nervous.

I was in a similar situation, although a lot more suspicious. Me and my buddy were waiting for someone to get home to play some Wii late at night, we drove around the block probably 4 times just not thinking. Then we park on a corner in front of an empty lot. Next thing we know, 3 squad cars roll up. Luckily my friend was a cadet for an area police department and he said it would pop up when they ran out IDs.

But if any of my friends asks, my friend was groped by a cop, my friend shoved him away and we were arrested.

Even having a dog doesn't matter. You could be using the dog to blend in. They wanted your id in case something happens. They also could be looking for someone in the area.

I don't like that a lot of cops have attitudes, but it would be hard not to after dealing with all the stuff they have to deal with.

This, plus they deal with *******s a lot, so it is what it is. You just have to be calm and deal with it.

I would get all the families who live there to sign a petition for adding sidewalks. Start something, get it going. Be active! As you know, the best defense is offense.

Unless the city is given a easement of property at the front of all those lots...not gonna happen unless it's each homeowner paying for and maintaining their part of the sidewalk.

When there is an accident and somebody gets hurt severely, they sure will. Unfortunately, accidents always need to happen first...

A sidewalk really isn't possible in my neighborhood. It is a heavily wooded subdivision that is hilly and not flat as well. It really isn't a big deal not having sidewalks anyways, it is only a 25 mph speed limit, but even so I still like to play it completely safe and move off the road entirely.

The whole thing wasn't a big deal, it was just strange to basically be minding my own business walking my dog and have that happen. I honestly had no idea what the police officer was even talking about at first.
