    Ways to Mess With a Phone Number?

    So some random person keeps prank calling me, and they keep doing the same horrible "Hello this is Taco Bell" joke with an awful Mexican accent. I mean, come on, I can respect prank calls, but at least make them funny.

    But anyway, the good news is, this idiot didn't even bother to block their phone number. In my estimation, it's now fair game to screw with them as much as possible. I want to try to sign that number up for as many calling lists, promotional deals, sketchy mobile content providers, etc as possible. Anybody have any ideas about how to do this? All the advice online seems to be about avoiding telemarketers...

          I've never thought of this. I would like to know how to do this as well...my in-laws need to be humbled.

              I must warn though doing that could lead to a charge of invasion of privacy. You don't have the ownership rights to that number to sign it up for anything.

                  We get some stupid prank calls every now and then. Usually after the second one, I just answer the phone "Officer Davidson, So and So Police Department." I usually get a click and then some peace and quiet.

                          And that is incorrect. You would crap a brick if you know how much of your personal info is on line.

                          This is the best I can do. If you can recognize that neighborhood, go for it. Spokeo is one of the many sites that puts all you personal info online. Thats how people you don't want finding you do. Just imagine, all you need is an email address, phone number, or name and you could put a hit on a person. If you don't have info up here, you maybe an illegal alien. Put yourself in and I bet you crap bricks. They had nearly everything about my old man.

                              WTF, that site says that our household has 6-9 people instead of three. Apparently, Sue, Ethan, and Tabitha also live in my household, although I've never seen them...

                                      I believe most of that stuff is old census records. It's off with a lot, but dead on with some people. I think the younger the person the more accurate.

                                          mine was way off so that must be it. I think there are ways that you can send a messed up text to there phone or something through the internet

                                              My cell phone is way off. It says I'm standing in CF on some baseball field in East Hampton. It's right next to a football field and 3 other baseball fields. Never been there. It does correctly say I'm using Verizon.

                                              The home phone is pretty accurate though.

                                                  With my number is was WAY off. Didn't even get the right carrier.

                                                  Also - I'd remove the guys number. I know he's pranking you, but it's just not cool to post something like that here.

                                                      Anyways, I searched for my cellphone number and the info was very limited and way off. I searched for my name and the had the Street Name for my address right, but that was about it.

                                                          Cellphones have email addresses where you will get a text. Find out the carrier or just sign-up all the different carriers.
