the singing and music and chanting is what makes soccer crowds great, bad idea to allow these horns

Yeah, this is the best point yet...I miss the chants, those are way cooler compared to some dumb hum noise

The Vuvuzelas aren't anything new in futball, so it's not a big deal to anyone who actually watches the beautiful game. The noise just carries over the stadium because South Africa is 1000+ meters above sea level, that why it's so loud.

Thundersticks are nowhere near as bad as those things, which could actually be damaging to the ears.

Again, I'd MUCH rather hear chanting/singing at these events than a constant buzz.

Thundersticks are MUCH more annoying sounding than these.

I went to a local basketball game a few weeks back and they were handing these out to the fans. I refused to take them and the girl was like, "Are you serious?"

They gave them out during the Suns playoff game I attended and they were absolutely nothing.

Who woulda thought a horn would cause such an uproar in sports. Maybe I'm just used to hear horn noises at Canadian football games that this doesn't bother me.

No way. I don't like thundersticks, but they are just a loud banging sound. And more importantly, they aren't usually just a constant sound you hear all game

I'm not a big soccer fan but I've watched a few games in this world cup and those things are so annoying. I couldn't imagine being there in the stands.
