Re: Would you pay a yearly subscription fee(the donation fee yearly) to access OS?
I was originally going to say no, but $20 comes down to just $1.67 a month. The money wouldn't be the problem for me, it would be how much of the community leaves because of the yearly fee.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

True, but some people leaving would be a good thing in my opinion.

I would pay....Just cause I like the community here so much.Originally posted by countryboyJust curious how many would pay the donation fee ($20) on a yearly basis to access OS.
But, it would be a really tough sell for alot of the members."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Thing is, it's the internet. It's not like any information here will be confidential. Guys would leak it out anyway so there really isn't any benefit to paying to be part of this site. Sure the community's great but it'd be whittled down too.[NYK|DAL|VT]

Yes, if they offered more exclusive videos or something of my interest. Custom Avatars aren't enticing enough for me.Comment

It would probably kill new members. Imagine if you go to a forum that interests you and see that you have to pay to be a member. Doesn't matter how much it costs, but the actual screen with payment methods and all that just kills it.My Specs:

I'm not even a big fan of paying $20 to use custom avatars (plus the other stuff), although I definitely understand why that's done.
So as much as I love this site, I wouldn't pay a yearly fee.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

I dont know about some of you more recent guys, but think about all the time we spend on here. We've made some really cool (and not so cool) buddies over the years. I mean, I started posting here EIGHT years ago, even if it is "just the internet", this place is ****ing home to me. All the entertainment, info, camaraderie we get here....if a fee were to be imposed (and its NOT going to be), I think it'd be worth it.
I dunno.Comment

I would. What's Twenty bucks? I'd gladly give Facebook up over OS. Easily. Hands down. I find out so much from Steve's daily links, to the random "Oh crap look at this" thread in the OS neighborhood and all the way to the OS Vets Madden Sub Forum. This site is addicting. $20 bucks a year for an addiction? I'm saving money there.Comment

Pretty much.
I've met some cool people here, but no one I'd pay to keep in contact with on one message board (which is all I use it for), not even 20 measly dollars. If they're that cool, I'd get their email address, Facebook, IM info or something.I dont know about some of you more recent guys, but think about all the time we spend on here. I donated because I had some extra change one day and I didn't have anything better to do than blow twenty bucks for server costs and an avatar. Later on I did it again because I actually liked the t-shirt, but if this ever became a pay site I'd have no issue making that chubby banana dude's day brighter by moving on.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Would you pay a yearly subscription fee(the donation fee yearly) to access OS?
Reason for me is that I donated $20 a while back when I was on the site many times per day. Now that I'm older and have been here a while, OS doesn't have the same draw that it used to. It's strange, but it almost feels like I visit the site now out of habit rather than because I want to.
Yep, it's certainly not the money as $20 per year is very cheap. If cleaning up the site was the reason for the $20 fee, that's an even bigger incentive. OS is still a great site, but it doesn't have the same draw for me anymore.Comment

I don't pay to access websites. I like coming here, but i wouldn't miss it enough to pay $20 to access it.Comment
