After living in Louisville for almost 4 years now I find that a ton more people in Southern Indiana and the small communities south of Indy speak with more of a southern twang then people in Kentucky. It's the strangest damn thing.

What do you guys do in order to get interviewed? I mean, sending your resume/cover letter probably isn't enough these days. What more do you guys do? What did you do that got you your last job interview?

Congrats man! Times are tough out there right now.......I have been having a hell of a time trying to find something else myself. I'm in the middle of an interview process with this one place, but things are dragging a bit since they just finished their fiscal year. I'm applying and waiting.

You just have to keep at it, even though it's easy to get down on yourself. Sending out your resume can get interviews, but making sure each application and letter is tailored to that job helps too.

I just got an interview set up for next week after months of nothing. All that down time has also made me a little nervous about being rusty, and the interview is scheduled to last like 4-5 hours.

I might catch flack for this but it worked for me. In the self identification part of the application. ALWAYS check the Hispanic/Latino box. When I was checking African American which i am, I got minimal responses. When I started checking Hispanic/Latino, I would get insta callbacks within 48 hours of putting in a resume. I was scheduling 2 interviews a day for 3 straight weeks before I took a job I wanted.

This is something that pisses me off. It shouldn't matter what race you are. I just don't get it. Everywhere I go, I see more Hispanic workers than any other race. It's so frustrating and absolutely ridiculous.
