Re: The future of parking?
Very cool!
I wonder if it is "Park at your own risk". What if one of the vertical lifts gives out and your car gets destroyed? -
Re: The future of parking?
I'm not sure if there's any audio (as I had the sound off) but it seems too costly both from the consumer and the business standpoints if adding the cost of the equipment and that the business/city wants to remain profitable. Plus, with liability and possible mechanical issues I would assume the maintenance would be expensive as well.
No thanks.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: The future of parking?
If your car was destroyed, I'm sure they would have to pay for it.
I've seen something similar or although not as good as this in Japan. As long as its not breaking down, it would be better than parking in garages. You wouldn't have other people driving your car and no one would be able to get to your car to vandalize it.Comment

Re: The future of parking?
Well it looks great in regards to ease and not having to worry about anyone breaking into your car. That's by far what I like best about it. However, what happens if there is a software/computer issue or the power goes out? You're going to have 300-400 people without access to their cars and very angry. Or just in general what happens if the computer screws up and starts cramming mercedes in on top of one another.
It just has Futurama humor written all over it.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: The future of parking?
Stick with Jiffy Park:
George: "Excuse me...huh... I think I made a big mistake. I'd like my deposit back please."
Attendant: "Whats the problem"
George: "You got hookers turning tricks in my car. How's that for starters."
Attendant: "Haaan! That is all hearsay."
George: "Allright, very good I'd like my car and my deposit back please"
Attendant: "Can't do it'
George: "Whadday'mean.?"
Attendant: "If you read the agreement you signed the deposit is not refundable."
George: "Well does it say anywhere in the contract about my car being used as a whorehouse?
'Cause I don't remember reading that clause either.."
Attendant: "What can I tell you buddy. Take it up with Consumer Affairs."
George:. "All right , just give me my car and let me get the hell out of here."
Attendant: "Well that's going to be a problem"
George: "Why?"
Attendant: "It's all the way in the back. Can't get it out for a couple of days."
George: "What are you talking about.. I WANT MY CAR!!"
Attendant: "We ask that you please bear with us."
George: "Bear with you! This is a parking lot PEOPLE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO GET
THEIR CARS!!!"
Attendant: "Ideally.."

Re: The future of parking?
Parking is also a term used usually for highschool couples who park and makeout to put it mildly. Maybe it's just a western term so if you're from another part of the world (Which I think you are?) you wouldn't get the reference. Think that's what he was referring to.My Teams

No thanks.
But If they are building them, odds are they are making money... These will no doubt be the parking garages of the future. Besides, I would much rather trust a automated computer machine than a Human driver...My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment
