I do when I have just bought the game. Just to get used to the new controls.

For NCAA 11, I have been playing only "play now" games to see all the entrances, playbooks, get achievements, season showdown points, and all the rivalry trophies.

Then if I still enjoy playing I move onto RTG and last to dynasty.

Guys, when you buy a new game...let's say you have just bought NBA 2K11. So, you immediately start the Francise mode? You don't even try a short exhibition game? Franchise right out of the box?!!?!
              My Specs:

              ZX Spectrum
              CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
              GPU: Monochrome display
              RAM: 48 KB
              OS: Sinclair BASIC

I surely do not jump right into Franchise (in NBA2K10). I am like you, I just get lost in trying out the game and seeing what everything looks like, tinkering with as many different teams as possible. Further, I find myself waiting quite a bit to initiate my Franchise these last couple of years, until the first patch has been released, so I play quick games in the meantime.

Even when I've started my Franchise, I still hit up Quick Games frequently. Often I tire of just using my Franchise team. Sometimes I just want to play with a specific squad. Other times, as a fellow who really likes historic rosters, I'll play quick games of random historic matchups ('92 Bulls vs. '92 Spurs for example). Further, after my franchise has grown old and the game begins to wear a little bit, playing quick games with super updated rosters (MKHarsh's July '10 2K rosters) keeps things fresh with the new rookies and roster transactions.
