It thankfully missed anything important but comedy abounded as as the ambulance called it in the dispatch and she asked if was a suicide attempt and then I had to take so many X-Rays from so many different angles (which I'm sure was for the next office party) that the radiologist had me about break dance posing on the table.

This is not the one that dropped me like a gunshot...but here for those unfamiliar with the plant in question.

Without a doubt the worst shot of pain I've ever felt
Haha, you win dude. Nail to the testicle, and spiky ball thing to the nipple. Wow.

It's been 11 days now and only yesterday was I able to go through the day without intense, burning pain in the toe. If you've ever cut your toenail too close then imagine that over your whole toe.

This was not as bad as my knee dislocating though. I dislocated my right knee 7 times before I finally got surgery at OSU Medical hospital and since then it's been ok (knock on wood). If you've ever dislocated something before you have to know how painful and messed up of a feeling it is. If you've not, then thank your lucky stars!

Riding a bike barefoot, I put my feet down while going and my toes rolled under and dragged across rough asphalt, ripping them all off. They all grew back but the nails on my pinky toes are a bit funky.

About two years ago, when I was going to the gym on a daily basis at work, I was in my sweatpants and using the eliptical. The gym was pretty empty with only myself, a few executives from the company, and some random pretty girls. As I was going at it, I noticed that a certain............ ummmm........... "part of me" was rubbing up against the inseam of my sweatpants as I was moving on the elliptical. Unfortunately, I was not really in a position to just stop, shove my hand down my pants and adjust myself, then continue on without making a creepy exhibit for everyone to watch. I had about half an hour left on the machine and figured that I'd just deal with the uncomfortableness for a while, then adjust myself with a small little crab walk.

I got done with the workout and noticed that the rubbing feeling didn't go away. I did my weights and headed back into the locker room to shower up, and change back into my work clothes. As I changed down out of my sweats, I noticed there was a little red blotch on the boxers. Uh-oh. As I quickly found out, the constant rubbing led to some friction burn on a VERY sensitive part of me. The location of it wasn't exactly good either. The cleanest way I can say this is that the garden hose nozzle was damaged. For the next two weeks I was in utter hell any time I would take a leak. The burning fluid pouring out into the raw wound that just didn't seem to want to heal. This was torture that I would NEVER wish upon my worst enemy. Oh good god. Looking back, I should have just stopped the machine, reached down, adjusted the solider, and continued on. Embarassment be damned.
That one hurt me while reading it.

                  Re: Your gruesome injury stories..

Hmm I haven't had any bad injuries... so I tripped running up the stairs and scraped my knee. I had a little scab from there on forward and I picked at it and now it turned into a scar.

Well, my worst injury had to be when I fractured my middle finger during a basketball game. I was guarding someone with the ball and we brought in the trap. I was trying to cover all the passing lanes so he couldn't see and I didn't know what happened, but I felt a sharp pain in my finger. I just thought it was just the occasional jammed finger. I sat out for the rest of the first half icing it hoping it would be better. It in fact did not, it felt the same if not worse throughout the entire game. The other point guard on my team fouled out and there were no other guards on my team so I tried to play through the injury. I was doing fine until I went up to grab a rebound after contesting a layup, I land on someone's foot and end up on my back. Someone jumped up and stepped on my fingers and I was practically crying. The ball comes down towards me with just about everyone jumping in for the loose ball while I'm at the bottom. It was the worse pain and I just couldn't play through it anymore. I just walked to the bench and told my coach I was done. I didn't think it was anything bad so I didn't go to the doctors until like a month later. My finger had multiple fractures from top to bottom. The middle joint was still swollen. They told me my finger should stop swelling in a few months. The problem is, they told me that a few months ago, and it's still just as swollen. It's not painful unless I like try to crack my knuckles.

                    Re: Your gruesome injury stories..

Was riding in the backyard at my parents house about 7 years ago on a fast go-cart. The governor had been removed, along with the roll cage.... not good for someone who knew about neither in advance...

Was weaving in and out of pine trees in the back yard when a phantom branch smacked me in the face and ruined my concentration just long enough to direct me straight into a tree, flipping me directly on my head, still buckled in, engine running.

I managed to shut it off and unbuckle myself upside down and started to laugh it off when I realized I couldn't really move my left arm. Walking back towards the house it finally started to hurt and I figured my arm was broken, great.

I SLOWLY managed my way back to the house and took off my shirt only to realize my left arm was way out of socket, the bone was pushing the skin about 3-4 inches up above the shoulder.

My stepdad immediately helped me into his truck en route to the hospital. He somehow managed to every single bump and pothole on the road.....

We get to the hospital and I'm in the waiting room a good 2 hours before finally seeing someone for an xray. They tell me it is the worst possible shoulder dislocation possible.... Complete/Traumatic/Severe... ugh.

So they take me back into a little area to help me put it back in. I'm given a little sandbag and instructed to swing my arm until I feel it fall into place. Didn't work. This kinda hurts by the way lol. The next nurse tells me to put this rope in my mouth and bite down, as the next step will hurt. An assistant holds me down while she attempts to JAM the shoulder back in the socket.... failure again, and I screamed a mighty yelp.

My mom shows up and asks how many meds they gave me for this, basically calling me a wimp for being in pain. That's when the nurses realize they never gave me ANY pain meds.... So they stop everything and finally give me some painkillers, the rest is a blur lol.

Anyway, the rest of my life I have to be extremely careful when moving my left arm, I'm even told a severe sneeze could shoot the bone back out of socket again. They were kind enough to tell me that if I was a professional athlete my career would be over lol.

Man... I've been extremely lucky. I played sports all my life and still do and have never had a major injury... Worst thing that I ever did was sprain an ankle pretty bad.

Some of these are definitely 'WTF-worthy.'

If it's reddish...It's not your colon.

Internal bleeding is more dark/black in stool.

You should still see the doctor while it's happening however.

I've been fortunate. Nothing too gruesome has happened to me. The worst was when I somehow managed to pinch part of my leg inside the sprocket and chain of my bike when I was like 12. I was trying to ride up this huge hill and I fell over when my leg landed on the sprocket which was still turning and I got my leg pinched in between it and the chain. Ripped a chunk of skin off and I still have a scar from it. Wasn't that bad, but it hurt like hell.

This is really as gruesome as I get...
I broke my collarbone on the right side in January from snowboarding. Anyway, I also played in a competitive flag football league. I was disappointed that I would not be able to play most of the season, but asked my doctor how quickly I could get back to playing.
He gave me a time frame which meant I could be back before playoffs. Anyway, as the time came I went back for a checkup and another Xray. He said everything checked out and my collarbone healed really well and I could play flag football among other things.
                              Exciting!
                              Well...
I play Corner and we are allowed to bump and be physical so on the VERY FIRST play on defense in the 1st game back from injury, I go up to bump the WR at the line. He pushes my right arm across my body to get around me and I hear a massive CRRRRAAACKKKKKKK.
That is no exagerration. As soon as I heard that I fell to my knees and immediately could feel blood rushing to my right shoulder/collarbone.

So yeh. I was extremely pissed at the doctor. I went back the next day and this is what he said. No joke.
