Re: Off Topic 2010
Ahh, I didn't realize you only took three classes. That makes a little more sense. So do you know if you cover just as much material as a semester school, or do you go about at the same rate and cover less?Well I did night classes because I work full time so I had M&W 8-10 and T&Th 6-8 and an online class.
Usually in the quarter system you take 3 5 credit classes and 1 credit= 1 hour a week. So Mon -Fri 9-12 if you scheduled it right, would be your classes.
I went from like Mid September until last Thursday, get a sweet friggin' break, then Jan 3 - March something, get a break, then April to June...I think each class is 12 weeks.
Yes. I cried.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2010
Well, I think that it helps with breadth , but not depth. It's the same amount of hours, but quarter system students learn more about lots of subjects. Once you get out of prereqs, one class just builds on another so it might as well be semesters anywayComment

Re: Off Topic 2010
I'm still about 15 pages behind...I don't really think it's worth much of anything unless you're opening a lot of files all of the time. Sure, it's nice to have all of your files in a contiguous block, but as long as you've got a nice HDD (read: one with a lot of RPM), defragging is probably not necessary. I imagine it was more necessary when we were running with megs of HDD space, instead of gigs.
I'm not exactly sure, but I've also never seen much of a benefit. Honestly, though, if I ever have any speed issues, I just throw hardware at the problem, and it generally goes away.
But anyway, since I have an old computer with only 80 GB hard drive and just 512 MB RAM (it also says 2.8 Ghz but I don't really know what that means, I'm not exactly computer guy
) and 20 GB of space is taken up by music, my computer would run faster if I put all of that music on an external HD?
