Well, Toledo was once part of Michigan. But then in a 3-team deal after the War of 1812 involving what would become Wisconsin, Ohio got Toledo and Michigan got the U.P. This is a good thing because if that hadn't happened, I would have been born in Wisconsin. *shudders*

Therefore, Toledo residents are welcomed into Michigan fandom with open arms.

Something I accidentally came across when browsing wikipedia one day.

Isn't it hilarious? A bunch of grown men acting like middle schoolers.

I like how the call it a "war" and yet this is the only injury in the entire thing:

Monroe County, Michigan Deputy Sheriff Joseph Wood went into Toledo to arrest Major Benjamin Stickney, but when Stickney and his three sons resisted, the whole family was subdued and taken into custody.<SUP id=cite_ref-umich_hti_40-2 class=reference>[41]</SUP> During the scuffle, Two Stickney, son of the major, stabbed Wood with a pen knife and fled south into Ohio. Wood's injuries were not life-threatening.

I noticed Wausau's dot was right next to it. Didn't want people to get confused, even though you're right, it probably would've been hard to be confused by that.

In reality a lot of the states in this country fought each other over access to water. Vermont, New York, and Canada, along the with the British & Germans fought each other over the control of the Hudson River.
Hell it is a huge arse memorial in my town for that war.

Then you had New Hamsphire go to war with New York over the control of all the rivers, lakes and trees in the territory that is now known as the state of Vermont.

Had Colorado go to war with Arizona and California over water. Even Illinois and Missouri went to war over the control of the mississippii river. Back then access to rivers and lakes was your life line.
