Open book tests rule.

More classes should have them. If the goal of school is to prepare you for real life, I can look things that I don't know up in the real world.

Obviously there are things you should just know without having to look them up, but there should be no punishment for not knowing something when the answer is a 5 second Google search away.

Agreed. I just have a huge issue with the entire school system in general thats not for this thread. For the teachers on here, I have issues with the system, not the teachers. I have a massive amount of respect for you guys!

For general 101 classes/non major specific classes? I totally agree.

For classes specific to your major? I do disagree, especially since it is why you go to College in the first place.

Then again, for my major, it is so fluid and I basically can write whatever I want and still be right...

Exactly, especially for math and science stuff. It's not about just googling stuff either(at least for me), if you're a chemist or mathematician you'll be able to look up whatever you want, whether it's your old notes or other problems, and get help finding a solution to whatever you need. If you don't know how to do a chemistry or math problem, there isn't a book or set of notes in the world that will help you. My old high school math teacher let us use a sheet of notes for every test and if you had no idea about how to solve the problem then even if you had a similar problem on your sheet of notes, it was still hard for people to get the right answer.

I go the Pandora route. My King's of Leon, Weezer, DMB, Jet and The Killer's playlist is pretty good. If it does play a song I can't tolerate I just skip it so that it doesn't play again.

Another option that I used from time to time if I want to hear I specific song is Project Playlist.

I go the Pandora route. My King's of Leon, Weezer, DMB, Jet and The Killer's playlist is pretty good. If it does play a song I can't tolerate I just skip it so that it doesn't play again.

Another option that I used from time to time if I want to hear I specific song is Project Playlist.

My favorite Pandora stations that I created are James Brown, the Meters, and the Weakerthans. I barely ever skip a song on those three for some reason. Check em out.

Will do. I'm not much of a music person but, I've found a couple of bands that I like on Pandora recently. One of them (Phoenix) you mentioned yesterday and the other is The Weeks. They are very King's of Leonish.

You should listen to the Crash Kings. It's like Ben Folds and Kings of Leon had an awesome baby. They're a pretty new band and only have one album, but that album is probably the second best album I've listened to in the last year next to Muse's The Resistance.

Hm, I'm intrigued by this Crash Kings band. Gonna check them out tonight.
