Yea, I live right on the northern Boarder of the Marcellus Shale. The Hydrofracking itself basically causes mini earthquakes which loosens up the rock and allows the natural Gas to move freely into where they drilled. Problem lies is that the cracks in the rocks can go all the way up into the aquifer thus polluting the water with all sorts of Nasty chemicals and gas. My Uncle just retired and wanted to sell his house and he figured this would be a quick way to make some extra money before he bolted south. Good luck selling your house when your water does this:

good movie to watch on this Subject is Gasland. It can be a little preachy but you gotta listen to the interviews he has with people all over the nation. Im just glad my County out a moratorium on fracking near our watershed.
