Thats right, Hurricane Earl is related to me. I may try and go to the Eastern seaboard to reason with it, I am undecided.

I get excited every 6 years because my name is Bret, and Bret is on the rotating list (with 1 'T' and everything!). So far my hurricane has been pretty weak the times I remember it. Last time I think it caused some flooding as a tropical storm in Mexico.

I have mixed feelings because I want a Bret to be bad enough someday so that they retire the name, but that would mean massive death and destruction.

The next Bret is scheduled for 2011. Look the **** out!

Wow I hope the Judge I see the most is happy with me, in the course of 7 days I managed to settle two long running cases with agreements that should keep them out of court for a long, long time. Today I got the DA to completely drop one charge hanging over a client's head and then with the same client in Family Court I talked his ex into dropping an extraordinarily large arrears, basically giving him a reset on his life today. Days like this I feel like a good person.

Now to undo the good person vibe, there are two female employees at the Court house I always have very immoral thoughts about upon seeing them. One is just hot, solid 9 out 10 by anyone standard, 11/10 by this area's standards. The other just gives off the super freak vibe, I know other attorneys share the thoughts.

Nole, what is it about law offices and attractive women? 3 of the top 5 hottest women that work in the Courthouse I work at come from the County attorney's office. It's ridiculous - sometimes I feel like 'old cartoon wolf' with my eyes all bulged out and tounge on the floor. Sometimes they travel in a pack and make everyone's day a little brighter.

I don't know, the women I am referring to are employees of the Court not attorneys. There is one smoking hot attorney in this area, but she is an uber bitch. Another prominent attorney is the walking embodiment of a childless MILF, I didn't realize women of her age could look so good. Now in my law school there were a lot of really attractive girls, in one of the old Off Topic threads (perhaps the original) I remember giving an account of one while sitting in Professional Responsibility class.

Anyways, I got a piece of bad news last night as I heard my sister's Godmother died on Saturday. I will be attending the funeral tomorrow. She had been suffering for about 15 years now so at the very least it's a good thing she no longer has to live in pain. The couple has been a family friend even before my sister was born! In fact, it was at their house that I took my very first steps in life. My mother would always stand me up whenever we were there as they had a low table and a chair nearby. Anyways one day as my mother was standing me up to play with me I started to move around and eventually I was walking between the table and chair!

The couple and their son were like a part of the family very intimately for many many years but as time passed we grew apart. The husband is a very prideful and private man and his wife's illness has taken a heavy toll on him. I haven't seen him in a good 10 years though I did see his son about 4 years ago.

I'm sure there's going to be a lot of emotions tomorrow.

Forgot perhaps the best part of my day, I got to make the DA's office look bad to the Judge with a report they haven't gotten me that has caused a bunch of continuances. Always bodes well if it goes to trial, which it might depending on how good a deal they offer.

Yeah, the ones I'm referring to aren't all attorneys, but are minions of the County Attorney. Luckily, they are the ones I have to deal with if I ever have to deal with the Attorney's office. Sometimes I just feel like inventing payroll problems just so I have to go up to the 5th floor to talk to them. It's seriously a cougar lair up there.
