This makes me so proud of my city

Actually, this isn't even new news, but it's still depressing:

I need something relatively cheap to make for 15 people or so for tomorrow night. My friends and I are having a Christmas dinner of sorts, and I have no idea what to bring.

The first basketball rules were purchased for $4.3 million today. Just a bit out of my price range.

I'm not doing the main dish, someone else is. I'm not sure what it is though. The food list is all over the board. It is going to be unique but fun.

Anytime we have a "potluck" at work this is what I bring. It's easy, no cooking required and it's always a hit. It's called Texas or Cowboy Caviar.

2- Cans of Black Eyed Peas
                    1- Can of Yellow Corn
                    1- Can of Shoepeg Corn
                    1- Bell Pepper
                    Half of an Onion
10 oz- of Zesty Italian Dressing

Mix ingredients together and refrigerate for about two hours.

Serve with Frito's Scoops (you'll probably need two bags) or whatever chip you prefer.

Just don't knock it until you try it. Also, there's plenty of varying recipes online just Google Texas Caviar or Cowboy Caviar. I guarantee you won't find a bad review.

Don't really have one for crab but I do for artichoke dip.

We make this in massive batches of 200 so I didn't put quantities.

                                Artichoke Dip

artichoke hearts in water, rinsed, drained, and coarsely chopped
                                mayonnaise
                                grated Parmesan cheese
                                garlic
                                finely diced green onions
                                finely diced red bell peppers
                                cream cheese
                                pita chips

Preheat oven to 375. Place half the artichokes, mayonnaise, parmesan, and garlic in a processor and blend till smooth.. Process until smooth. Add the rest of the artichokes and blend them in to the dip. Pour mixture into a cassaroel dish. Bake in the oven 45min - 1hour till a bit golden on top. Remove from the oven and let cool a bit. Garnish with diced green onions and red bell peppers. Can be eaten cold or hot.

I'm guessing but I'd say 1 can of artichokes, 1/2 cup each of mayo, parm, cream cheese, and 1/4 cup garlic. The other stuff you can eyeball.

And now that I look at this recipe you could probably just sub out the artichokes for the crab and have a nice crab dip as well, but add lemon juice.
