    Re: Off Topic 2010

After seeing several American Pickers episodes this week, I decided to hit up this huge flea market this morning(apparently the biggest one in Tennessee?). Not a desirable crowd by any means(most of these people defined the term hillbilly). Anyway, this one guy had a booth that was essentially a yard sale of his. Found this gem for $4 and it. is. awesome.

Mint condition. I'm not even a Broncos fan but this is such a badass helmet.

        Re: Off Topic 2010

I'm confused at what I should do and it's a tough decision.

I work for Home Depot and I don't mind my job too bad.. I understand my department(s) completely and the knowledge isn't an issue.. I just get tired of serving the public sometimes. I work 5 days a week, but the days vary and I rarely get a full weekend day off.

One of my friends called me and offered me a job working overnights 6pm-6am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.. and the pay is a few cents more then what I'm making now.. to pretty much ride around in a car and watch movies on my portable dvd player.. lol. It would be a change of pace, but at the same time probably boring.. and I don't really want to sell my entire weekend away for an easier job...

It's about 5 more minutes of a drive so that's not an issue either.

I've just invested a lot of time and effort and Home Depot has taught me a lot, but at the same time I'm ready for something different.. helping the public gets old sometimes.

        This decision isn't easy.

I hate the general public. I can't wait until I get a bigger job in producing and won't have to interact with them all day every day.

Yeah, I've worked with the public for the past 5 1/2 years and it gets old.

If I took this job, It would be easier for me to go to school..

They each have their positives and negatives. Just figure out which ones are more important to you. If it helps you go to school, I'd probably take it, but at the same time I'd hate throwing away my weekend.

I'd be more pissed about having to adjust to working overnight compared to giving up my weekends. That's just a complete life-change, routine and sleep-habits wise and I don't know if I could do that.

Probably because working at a restaurant I worked every Friday-Sunday, anyway, so that doesn't bother me at all.

I was worried when I switched to overnights, but it was pretty easy. I never slept much at night anyways as whenever my boy would come in the bedroom, i'd be only sleeping off and on the rest of the night.

As it is now, I get home around 7:30am, the wife and boy go to daycare around 8:30 (she works there as a lead teacher), and they don't get home until around 6. That leaves me a 9 1/2 hour block to sleep. With him not waking me up, and now taking melatonin, I sleep like a baby and am always refreshed. Wearing earplugs has certainly helped as well.

Plus, it's always funny getting strange looks Friday morning when I stop and grab a six pack on the way home.

That too. Working overnights + weekends. I just feel like I'd be missing out on life.

I will just say this once. Work all you can while you are young, because you might be able to retire sooner. Save money and work a lot.

I've got a week or so to think it over, anyways. I'd like to leave a notice with my current job, if I was to leave. He won't have the position open 'til next week.

The proper term is "Father Scott"

"Father Scott" sounds like someone "Mr. Hansen" needs to talk to..
