    Good news for a change

A Manhattan homeless man had an emotional reunion yesterday with the kindhearted ad executive who lent him her American Express Platinum Card outside a SoHo restaurant, in what became a shining act of generosity, trust and honesty.

Wow. Don't know if I could do that.

He shouldn't have bought cigarettes. If he's got no money cigarettes are the last thing he should be going after.

LOL I just read this article when I got home a few minutes ago. Grant it I would have bought food of some kind, like a few large bags of chips or few cans of peanuts instead of cigs.

But buying cigs thing don't really surprise me. I remember growing up in Chicago, giving homeless people money and the 1st thing they do is run to the liquor store and buy a 40. Nowadays they buy a 4 loko instead.

On the real I would have hit up Mcdonalds or Burger King and got like 20 $1 hamburgers ya dig.

I don't see anything wrong with buying Cigs. Great story. I am glad he came back and gave her his card. Great story. The man is homeless smoking is the less of his problems. I used to not want to give beggars money, because I thought they would just go buy beer. But as I get older I don't care what they buy. I give out of the goodness of my heart now. They can buy what they want.

From my experience, it's rare to find a good homeless person.

I know one guy who I would lend some money if he asked me because I know he'd pay it back. I know if I got in a fight he would come to help me.

Good people are good people regardless of the situation...which is why good people rarely turn out to be homeless.

He didn't buy 1 food item? You have got to be kidding. I thought he was hungry?

As for her, all she would have to do is cancel the card and she wouldn't have to pay anything. She could still dispute the charge and not have to pay anything.

I thought it was a good story. Risky move by the women since most homeless guys would take the card and run.

I agree with you. It's not about doing a running credit check. We are supposed to give to show love, that's it. Maybe that guy will be touched by the generosity and learn to trust and see the brighter side of human nature. She "earned a jewel...." Glad he did buy some body-wash, though. It's been pretty hot this summer.
