    Re: Kidney Stones

I had one from actually drinking too much tap water. The tap water is so hard where I live. I would do the 64 oz a day thing and was chugging it. Put a brita filter on the faucet and a brita jug and haven't had any problems since.

What do you guys mean by passed it? Meaning you basically pee'd it out? I didn't know it was possible to do that. Are kidney stones that small? I always thought they were much bigger. Only reason I've thought that is because my dog had kidney stones when I was in high school and my parents had to put her to sleep due to not having the funds to pay for her surgery(and the doctor said there's a very good chance they'd come right back, meaning she'd need more surgery). Why couldn't my dog pee them out then?

It's more painful to let it just sit there. Besides it was right there near the end so it was simple to help it along it's way. And yes passed it means peed it out.

Damn bjowers29, sorry to hear this. I had KS a few years back and the pain was unlike anything I could have imagined. I spent almost 2 days in the hospital doped up on morphine. That morphine is some incredible stuff. Lol!!!

Get well soon and drink water like never before and hopefully you won't have to go through this again. Peace!!!

usually I drink coffee, wine , and scotch, a little water..some soda or ice tea, and then eat steak and fried dill pickles or top ramen.

I take it I should change these things

Well just got out of surgery and on my way home. The dr was showing my wife the X-rays they took this morning before surgery. 3 weeks ago when I saw him last to schedule the surgery there was 2 stones in my left kidney. This morning 3, also there are now 2 in my right that wasn't there 3 weeks ago. Guess surgery 31 will be coming soon. Oh well what can you do? They have not been able to find a medicine yet that can stop them. But I respond to surgery well. All the nurses say they wish all the patience was able to come out of surgery and recovery as fast as I do. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.

For me it's not anything I eat or drink my body just isn't producing the proper acids to keep them from forming.

Guess it's time I get this thread going again, I got 3 stones in my left and 2 in my right kidneys. The pain is pretty severe right now on my left side so no doubt one is moving. I passed a tiny one Saturday. I have to go to the Dr next Tuesday so I might be having another surgery soon. I think the Dr should just give me an unlimited rx of Loratab since I have so many of them. That would save me from calling him every 3 - 4 weeks and him writing one each time lol. Any way hurting pretty bad right now guys, later.
