OS Help! Need Road Trip ideas!?

Hey Guys, I'm in need of some great ideas. Basically my cousin, pretty much my sister, will be moving down to Texas to start school. Basically relocating down there starting in 2011. So in order to celebrate with our last hurrah, I planned an entire family trip to Toronto to watch the Bears play the Bills.

Then, one by one, they all started canceling. Till there was only 4 (maybe 5) people still down to go. Since there's less people going, we decided to maybe delay the trip to Toronto and maybe do something else.

So second plan was, Road Trip!! But now is the predicament. We don't know where to go!? We were thinking Massachusetts because my cousins go to school out there, but we're not sure of what to do. Any ideas?

Things that came to our mind...

Maine - Eat Lobsters, camp at Acadia National Park
New Jersey - Atlantic City
New York - check out the night life, catch a basketball game
Boston - catch a basketball game

I'm sure there's ton more of stuff to do out there, but I need ideas. It doesn't even have to be in the East coast, if something cool is happening anywhere, please let me know!

We're from Chicago, and we plan on leaving mid November.

Just kinda spin a bottle around and head in whatever direction it points. That is what we used to do when we were bored and wanted to take a road trip. There is tons of stuff out there to see. More fun when you dont really have plans.

Drive out to Colorado and snowboard.

Instead of just going to Boston or Maine you could do both. Maine isn't too long of a drive from Boston, 3-4 hours I believe. I've made that drive a few times. You can do a New England road trip. You can visit Newport Rhode Island, Boston, Maine. There is a lot to do in the New England area and a lot of history.

Head west and explore the Rockies. That would be a very fun road trip that I'd love to do sometime!
