Re: Grades
In high school, I imagine I graduated with around a 2.8. I never bothered to check at the end of the year though, so I can't be sure(had a 2.9 going in I believe). Freshman year really helped out with that though, because I got all A's and B's. Then I gave up for various reasons. Stopped going to school as much, stopped doing anything school related outside of school and stopped doing a large portion of my homework. I had 50 missing assignments in my biology class. I just saw school as another way to catch up on my sleep. Also since others brought up the ACT, I got a 17 the first time but improved it to 19 the second time I took it.
Now I'm in college. I am applying myself, and am doing decent now. I imagine the best I could end up with would be a 3.0(I imagine it'll be lower though), but I'll be happy with whatever I get as long as I know I did best I could.Comment

Re: Grades
You might want to re-read this thread, since not a single person has claimed to have had a perfect ACT score or an A+ average.
If anything, most of the posters here have admitted to being indifferent students.Last edited by Chip Douglass; 10-18-2010, 04:49 AM.I write things on the Internet.

Re: Grades
My story is similar to some of the others I've seen posted here. After taking an Economics course my sophomore year of high school, I came to the realization that community college, despite all the flak it gets from everyone everywhere, was going to be the right move for my first two years of college. This plan worked perfectly in conjunction with the idea that I was just getting a little sick of all the homework and studying getting in the way of my gnarly high school experience (noted sarcasm). I finished high school with around a 2.8 GPA.
I followed through on the community college plan, then transferred to a four year university and finished my degree with a 3.4 cumulative GPA. The biggest problem I ever had with the community college thing was swallowing my pride. It was almost as if I always had to say, "Yeah, I go to community college, but I swear I'm actually smart."Comment

Re: Grades
Hence the probably. I can't know what goes on in his head.
Funny how you conveniently didn't comment on the perfect ACT part though. I suppose I probably wouldn't either if I told someone to read the thread when I obviously hadn't done so myself.Comment

Re: Grades
I have a 3.74 GPA in High School, this is my senior year. I haven't studied for a test since freshman year, and it's shown. I got a 25 on the ACT, and taking it this Saturday to try and get about a 27 or 28 for some scholarships.
However, I'm taking Calculus at college, and it is a whole lot tougher than high school math. We move so fast through the material, and there are so many steps to know, it's tough to remember. I'm not the best at studying as I've mentioned before, but mathematics is (supposedly) my strong suit.Comment
