For example to the person asking about gamerscore, I'm probably the biggest achievement whore on OS, and my gamerscore is at 83,000.

For those wondering, I'm married (to a real life female who's American, not a mail order bride), I have a son, and a kid on the way (both of which are mine).

You lie, your gamerscore is only 82,518.

I find it funny that some are calling him odd for getting the gamerscore but sit here and argue over whether his wife is hot or not.

Think about this for a moment extreme: In about 6-7 years when your kid is in school, he is going to brag to other kids about his gamer score. It will only be a matter of time when your kid says " Well My dad has a GS of over 100,000!"

I'm not going to lie, I was addicted to gamer score like a year and a half ago. I'm only at like 35000 points though, but I played some crappy games (Avatar: The Last Airbender for 3 minutes?) to get points. I actually played some games though that were kind of fun and I wouldn't have played otherwise (TMNT). I'm no longer concerned with points, I usually don't have much time for games anymore as is.

The thing that baffles me is that people get so riled up over it and say how this guy needs a life, etc.

He's doing this because he enjoys it. Who cares?

It's nothing new really, as the hobby still gets little respect. Games make hollywood blockbuster money, but anyone that plays lots of games is a joked on as a virgin with no friends/life.

Still though, 500k is a lot. I probably wouldn't even have 100k even if I still had a working 360.

This was the way of thinking during the 90s that is for sure. People would go out of their way to buy a game from a store that they think nobody would recognize them at.

Now having a PS3, Wii and 360 is the "in" thing. And if you don't own one of the 3 then you are a loser.

Heck 10 years ago, just being on a website like this you would have been considered an uber steve urkel test tube baby geek.

Eh a wii is cool with the ladies but whenever my lady knows im playing ps3 she gets really upset lol. Especially when we are talking on the phone an she hears gunfire coming from my end.
