hell naw... ntm when all those lil ladies get older and the difficulty maintaining weight gets tougher, they will be happy they were on the slim side.

Since the majority of the US is overweight, some think that everybody should be bigger (not thin). They want everyone to conform to make them feel better.

I'd be willing to bet that those that actually make comments, are secretly envious. It's much easier to make 'skinny' comments than to lose weight.
Eeeeeexactly. My gf's roommate is a thicker girl, and constantly tries to make fun of people who work out everyday (like my gf.. she's 5'3", 105), and constantly justifies her poor eating habits by saying "all men prefer thicker girls". Yet, every couple weeks, she'll start making herself go to a gym and attempts to eat healthier. Making fun of what she isn't is a means to make herself feel better, the same as NDAlum's gf's coworkers rag on her about being skinny...

Hell, if anything, she's doing them a favor... at least their dropping those baked goods off at her desk now instead of continually shoving them down their own throats.

Most people that go out of their way to laugh at others are doing it because they are insecure.

How do we know this? Unless I missed something, none of us know why the are doing things like leaving baked goods on her desk.

They have openly stated they think she needs to gain weight. Then they'll make comments like "oh just eat it you will just burn it off easily because you're naturally skinny".

I know they say she needs to gain weight. Whether that is said to make themselves feel better, or out of natural concern, no one knows.

From an outside observers view, I'd say jealously. 5'9" 120 is far from an unhealthy skinny, so no one in their right mind should a have concern about her weight.

                        Re: Double standards?

Lifestyles are always prone to Double standards because humans generally want uniformity. I personally think they should want to better themselves to a comfortable weight. I know for myself i'm not exactly thrilled with my own weight, but would never pawn my issues on to someone else just cause they are or can do it and I can't for what ever reason.
