If you played HS basketball, what was your team like and what were your stats?

    Sorry if this is off-topic.
PG: Barrett a.k.a. "Babyface" 8.2 PPG, 7.5 APG
SG: Clinton a.k.a. "Clint Me" 17.2 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 3.2 APG
    SF: Reginald a.k.a. "Regice" 13.5 PPG, 40% 3PT
PF: Dylan a.k.a. "Blondie" 14.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG
C: Jaylen a.k.a. "Chilled Nips" (me, stats in a sec)
    BENCH
    6th: Sheldon a.k.a. "Coldman" 15.0 PPG
    G- Brandon a.k.a. "B-Cray"
G- Alex a.k.a "Firecrotch" (yea, pretty bad lol)
    F- Jordan a.k.a "Air Jr."
    F- Kione a.k.a "Hampton Inn"
    C- Ja'Von a.k.a "JV"
    C- Demetrius a.k.a "Layuparty"

I think I made the team because I'm like the only defensive-minded player. My coach seems to think it's a good idea to have me guard the best player on the opposing team...no matter who they are. That means being roughed up in the post (since I'm pretty weak) AND chasing quick, fast SG's all over the freakin' court! Nonetheless, I give my all, averaging 5.5 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.6 SPG, 4.1 BPG. Now, just a little more about my teammates

Barrett- People call him Babyface because he's supposedly the cutest guy on the team, according to the girls. But we call him Babyface because he's the youngest on the team. NBA Comparison: Jason Terry

Clinton- We call him "Clint Me" because whenever somebody would shake a defender, we'd say "He pulled a Clint" since Clinton has the best handles on the team. NBA Comparison: Brandon Roy

Reginald- Eh...don't know much about him lol. One thing I know is he doesn't like me very much. Nickname comes from the Pokemon "Regice" NBA Comparison: Mike Miller

Dylan- He's blonde...and super nice, as far as I can tell. Only player so far that can dunk. NBA Comparison: LaMarcus Alridge

Sheldon- Again, don't know much about him but he's the most energetic and hyped-up guy on the team. Gets a little annoying to be honest. Nickname is messing with his last name (Coleman)
    NBA Comparison: Kevin Martin

Brandon- Unfortunately, Brandon was the reason for us losing to our rival last year (8th grade), sabotaging us as it seems. Thinks he's a little too good sometimes. Nickname is kinda just his first initial (B. McCray)
    NBA Comparison: Allen Iverson

Alex- BEWARE THE RED HAIR! 2nd nicest guy I know. He can ball too. Leading scorer for us last year. Gets a lot of minutes.
    NBA Comparison: Manu Ginobli

Jordan- Quickly became my best friend once we met off the court in 7th period. Guarded (and owned) him last year. We call him "Jordan Jr." because he seemingly has MJ's athleticism. NBA Comparison: Desmond Mason (lol)

Kione- Eh...don't know a lot about him. Let's just say I'm glad I don't have to talk to him too often. Seems like a d-bag tbqh. Don't know why they call him Hampton Inn NBA Comparison: Brad Miller/Spencer Hawes

Ja'Von- I never, ever ever know what Ja'Von is saying. He's funny, strong, and intimidating and I hate guarding him. And he's always smiling and it creeps me out. NBA Comparison: Shaquille O'Neal

Demetrius- Don't know anything about him. I know he's a lot like Ja'Von. Big, strong, and intimidating. Again, I don't like guarding him. He makes my body hurt. We call him Layuparty because he owns at inside shots and it kinda messes with his last name (Levarati)
    NBA Comparison: Nazr Mohammed

Me- I'm pretty quiet around the team. A lot more obnoxious when I'm not focusing on basketball. I got my nickname, "Chilled Nips" because I don't show a lot of emotion (mainly because I don't care too much) and because ALL my points scored have been in the 4th quarter. Interesting stat, huh?
    NBA Comparison: Ben Wallace

NBA comparisons came from our coach. We're 3-1. So what did your HS basketball team look like and what were your stats?

Could be worse. "CHILL HIS NIPS!" is very easy to chant. Wait until the whole crowd's yelling it.

Ugh, I hope that never happens.

And I just realized. We're 3-1 now...no "CHILL HIS NIPS" last night. We were getting boo'ed.

It's been a long time since I thought of my high school basketball days my first year we went 10-0 I averaged something around 14 pts a game and 8 rebounds. My second year I was in a car accident just before the season started so I sat on the bench the whole season with injuries, we went 2-12. I decided not to play my Jr and Sr year because of the coach we had.

Our team is 2-0, tough 3 point win in regulation and 9 point win in 2OT. I would list my teammates names and stuff, but we aren't that good.

My Junior year I played in a similar situation as being a defensive player when my school won district. From what I can remember, I got matched up with the best player on the other team. I averaged maybe a couple of buckets a game, not much. One game I did drop like 25 points on this one guy, he wasn't very good.

Man your school is full of shorties........

My team was full of 7Ft, 6'10, 6'11, 6'8 guys. Hell even the PG was 6'3. I was in high school the same time as Kevin Garnett and we use to beat the crap out of his school every year during the season and playoffs.

That is one thing I loved about going to high school in Chicago. The talent level in basketball is DEEP. So many NBA players from Chicago that it isn't even funny. And the cool thing about it is even after they turn pro, they still come back to the Chi and play 21 at the parks in the hood like they always did growing up.

You goto Thornton? I'm a few years younger then you, I think I was in 7th grade when Garnett was a Senior.

I remember when Garnett and Ronnie fields lost to that thorton team with Randal El, Melvin Ely, and Tai Streets I think?

Yea, we're definitely a small ball team. We all still have room to grow but yea, we've faced some giants already lol.

Well i played my freshman year in HS and averaged 21 PTS, 6.3 AST, 3.5 REB, and 2.1 STL per game, went to a new HS a bigger one and only played about 3 minuites per game since the coaches son was the PG...

I was a 6'5" forward/guard and averaged about 22 PPG my junior year but then struggled my senior year (the whole team did) and averaged 14 PPG. I could have played at a JC but declined. Wish I would have.

Still love playing to this day. I miss HS basketball, but mainly the summer AAU tournaments and camps. School ball was cool, but summer ball was where it was at. I dropped 52 points in a summer league game against Luke Ridnour's team, Blaine HS. No joke. We had six players that game and I was on fire. They ended up beating us, though.
