Sadly, it's not that uncommon for a waiter to steal your info and purchase something using it. Apparently someone did that earlier this year where I work.



Also, get BB to get the shipping address the person used with your debit card.

I saw that on my statement. I live in NC and this is in IL (Itasca).

I have no idea how on earth this happened. I blocked the card.

I made on purchase while in Grand Rapids this past Saturday, which is pretty close to Itasca. However, I did not use my BB&T debit card which shows the fraudulent charge. I used my Wachovia debit card.

I thought I had it figured out until I realized that!

Once again, the card is blocked and BB&T said they would refund the charges when I go through the process after it posts to my account. There was another charge but it shows $0.00 for an iTunes store purchase.

ND - these days I almost expect crap like that to happen. It's happened to me twice.

And good luck even trying to track down how the number was stolen. One of mine was charged in Israel

Honestly, when it happens, it's not even about the money - my bank refunds it right away. The bad part is having to cancel the card and change all the automatic bill payments I have set up with the thing. Always end up forgetting one and getting a notice when that happens or they expire.

I had a charge on my statement that was 154 dollars at a supermarket 2 hours away from where I live. I called & told them that I didnt make the purchase & they said it wasn't my card, it was my wife's card they swiped at the register as credit. She was with me that Saturday with the card in hand. I don't know how they did it but we cancelled the card obviously after finding that out.

I had a random charge on my card about a month ago. $42 to some bar in Miami or something like that. No idea how that happened.
