I never really liked that either. For a while it was pretty common in Michigan for people to like MSU for basketball and UM for football. It's evening back out now, but I've always been Michigan for everything. In fact I'm looking forward to the frozen 4 tonight just to see them play, even though I've probly only watched 1 game all season.

And so he grew up with his father always trying to get the Tech box score so he assumed it was natural. And by my dad doing the same (except watching ESPN) I just picked up on being a Tech fan.

And then in the late 90's, like every other Braves fan outside of GA, TBS converted us to Braves fans (he'll claim that came in part with GT, but following that logic he would love the Falcons as well.)

And I guess I'll add my own touch with Oregon, which I jumped on the bandwagon in 2007 (I was a freshman so forgive me) with Dennis Dixon and then when (we thought) LSU wasn't going to get into the BCSNCG, I started to pull hard for UO.

But at a certain point, you're not considered bandwagon, right?
Sure, as a 3rd generation Pittsburgher (my great-grandparents settled in Pittsburgh after immigrating from Europe), Pittsburgh fandom courses through every fiber of my being.

                          Re: Off Topic 2011

                          I was born in 1987:

I'm a Suns fan because my older brother was. He became a Suns fan because he was given the jersey #24 for his elementary basketball team. When he asked if there were any famous basketball players who wore #24, someone said Tom Chambers. Chambers was on the Suns, so that stuck with him. My earliest memory of the NBA came in 1993, which was the year we made it to the Finals. Obviously my bro was riled up so I picked up on it. I remember bawling (in a Chicago Bulls shirt, interestingly enough) after Paxson hit the shot to end it. Obviously, the rest is history.

I'm a Braves fan because, again, my older brother was. It was the TBS factor. Coming home every day and relying on a game to be on, taking a small wooden bat and imitating the stances, the amazing pitching, Chipper Jones....they captivated me (and so many others) and I haven't looked back.

I'm a Texans fan because I never really had a true favorite NFL team. I used to root for the 49ers as a kid, but it never really stuck. They were always on TV since we lived in Fresno, and they had many fans at school. Either way, it didn't stick after 1996, 1997 or so. I ended up teamless until the Texans were announced. I figured start from the beginning and see where I'd end up. Loved the team name, colors, stadium, etc. Then when it became apparent that David Carr (Fresno State) was going to be the #1 pick, it kinda cemented it. 9 years later, Carr proved to blow and is long gone, and I'm a Texans fan for life because it fits.

I'm a Sabres fan because I never really had a true favorite hockey team. It was never one of my favorite sports and that's because no one I was close to cared about it too much. I followed it loosely, but whatever. Back a few years ago, I decided to just try it out. I needed a new addiction and passion. I was sick of the heartbreak from my other teams. The criteria was that they don't be an established superpower, and that they don't be a southern team, because hockey is synonymous with winter and cold.
I used to love using Buffalo in old hockey games. Watched a few Buffalo games and liked what I saw. Fast-paced offense, good goaltending, etc. I saw a bit of parallel to the Suns so that helped. 40 year history, been screwed a few times, poor management at the moment (until St. Pegula came along), etc. Now, they've stuck.

I guess since were on the topic as well.

Born in '93, technically in Orlando but it's where my mom was stationed for work moved back to Louisiana in like 2 days then eventually FL later on.

Saints fan because well it's basically one of my first memories about sports, running around the backyard with a football and Saints gear on(helmet,pants,etc.). I got a picture of me at about 2 months old in a saints onesie. Every sunday me and my grandma would watch the game on the back porch, I still to this day remember throwing a temper tantrum once when whoever was QB threw a stupid pick to lose the game, was prolly Aaron Brooks. Been a fan through all the terrible years so I just laugh at everytime I get call a bandwagon fan at school

Same thing for LSU basically, I was also a big ULL fan living near Lafayette went to several football games and basketball games there.

Hornets, became a fan when they moved to NO. My fandom went up a lot in '08 I think it was when they started doing great due to the fact the media actually talked about them and showed more games.

Marlins, my grandma was a Braves fan but when she moved to FL as well she started to watch more and more Marlins game started to grow on me. I remember watching the last game of the '03 WS and thinking cool grats, big deal I thought baseball was boring despite going to some of their games. I got into it seriously in '09 due to the internet, The Show, etc. greatly increased my interested in baseball

FSU, cause well i'm going there in the Summer for college but I still consider LSU my favorite right now and unless i'm going to the game I'll be watching good 'ol SEC football over ACC.

Iowa Hawkeyes, Nothing hardcore I like for them to win I really like their program is run(kinda ironic saying that now. My mom, grandma, and great grandpa are from Iowa so it grew on me as long as they weren't playing LSU>
Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, Lightning
