Why does ESPN think ANYBODY gives a damn about Golf? Has to be the most boring sport to watch in the world.

There is a little thing in the media business called "ratings".

If people didn't care, ESPN wouldn't show it. And thankfully, the ratings don't center around only your opinion.

Software Engineer. I work at a computer. My amazing multitasking skills means that I can post in OT while I get interrupted from actually working at work. Which happens far too often.

I also use OT as a decompressing period. If I'm trying to figure out a tough problem, I shove it to my subconscious and come here and feel better. Usually I can get a trigger of an idea that I can use to actually work.

Also, the last week I've had ****ty motivation, considering the president of this company tries to motivate people by paying ****ty salaries and threatening the jobs of workers.

My sisters Rottweiler had reconstructive knee surgery this morning. He goes in his crate when my sister & brother-in-law are in work, but he doesn't like being in there so apparently he was carrying on trying to get out the other day and managed to blow out his ACL and tear his meniscus.

Yeah, I've been looking for a bit. My boss tried to calm me down (she obviously noticed that I haven't been my usual self this week), but I think the damage is done at this point. Especially when I feel like I'm being underpaid here. Like I said, from what I can tell, most companies that employ developers start them off with a salary that would be over a 10% raise for me. Regardless, I'm looking to make the best choice for me.

I actually got contacted (probably robot-contacted) by a recruiter from Google NY, but I had to turn him down because I didn't want to leave the NRV. I don't regret that decision. My fiance really wants to go to Tech, so I'll probably be there until she's done. Then we have to wait for her to get a job... so we'll just see how everything plays out. At that point, I'll be the more flexible one with regards to location, so if we move, I'll find a new job easier than she would.
