As for the facial hair thing, I get carded no matter if i've got facial hair or not so I don't bother with shaving very often. I did shave a bit a while ago and now have some stubble.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Off Topic 2011
Just had a great Cuban sandwich from the local Cuban resturant. It's the bomb I would have eaten 3 of these monsters if I could afford it.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I've never eaten at a Cuban place, but I have had the Cuban Chicken Panini from Panera and a Cuban Chicken sandwich from Cheesecake Factory and both of those were delicious.Patriots

Re: Off Topic 2011
It's overpriced, definitely, but I love the half-sandwich/cup-of-soup combo.
On the Twitter front, just got one of my suggestions retweeted by one of my favorite new authors, Joe Hill (author of Heart Shaped Box and Horns, and 20th Century Ghosts...Stephen King's son). Woo.Last edited by Beantown; 07-03-2011, 02:43 PM.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
I was watching an Argentinian soccer program to know more about the Copa América games and suddenly they began talking about if Argentinian families eat pasta or asado on sundays' lunch. At the beginning it seemed stupid to me but it made me think. Here (Argentina and Uruguay at least), Sunday is the family day of the week when many members (or the closest ones) of a family join together on one of their houses and spend from midday up to the evening eating (mainly pasta or asado) and sharing some quality time. It's a tradition that came with the italian inmigrants that came here during the first half of the XX century, and I thought about how much it impacted to our society the things that foreigns bring with them.
Do you have any type of tradition on Sundays?Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
Sunday NFL when football season is in. That is all.
Really though, Sunday is our relax day. I usually BBQ (depending on the weather) or cook some large type meal. But either way I'm the one doing the cooking. I've done everything from sushi and tempura shrimp to Chicken Mole or even Salmon Florentine and Angel Hair Pasta. Whatever I'm in the mood for. After a fairly early dinner it's a walk around the niehborhood and then bath's for the kids, simpsons, and well...bedtime.
That's out typical Sunday. Not really a "tradition", but we've been doing the same thing for many years now.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. And "Heart Shaped Box" is one of the only books that I've ever felt...uneasy/scared while reading. Had me freaking out at a few parts. Damn good book.Last edited by Beantown; 07-03-2011, 02:44 PM.Comment
