Opposite here... For me, HS was all slacking and getting easy A's, which led to a rude awakening my first couple years in college... Loved every minute of it, though.

You do to DU? I have a good friend going there next year. They do have a crazy schedule. They don't start 'til a week or two into September, too, right?

My sister goes to school not too far from there, either, at Colorado College.

Yep, I would much rather be the oldest kid in school for a year or two than be without a college degree for the rest of my life.

I'll be 30 in in exactly a month and I'll be starting what is basically my second semester of undergrad in a couple weeks. I had a kid in one of my classes this summer who was in kindergarten when I was graduating high school. Not once have I felt I was "that guy" as you put it.

Yeah, that's the thing about college. Nobody cares how old your are. People go when they're ready. Heck, I've read stores about 90 year olds getting their college degrees.

Your problem is that you will find the bad in anything. Or, if there is none, you'll create something ridiculous to deem it bad. Go to college if that's your best option. If you go and truly work hard, you'll create plenty of options for the future.

My dad is almost 50 and he is close to finishing his 2 year degree now. I'm definitely proud of him. It definitely gives me more motivation to get through college now because I am just like he was when he first attended college (never liked school, skipped, put in little effort), but I certainly don't want to have to end up going back later in life because I feel I missed out on achieving something. I may not care too much for it now, but I realize when I mature more I'll probably look back and regret not going if I stopped. But it's definitely good for people not to let age stop them from going back, because the only place age matters in college is in the persons head.

So let me get this right:

You'd rather not go to college and be satisfied with working retail jobs because...you don't want to look uncool and old?

                          Wow...just wow.

I found both pretty easy if you halfway tried. I do feel like college work gives you a little more freedom though. I enjoyed high school and I've enjoyed college so far. Even though I am a loner but, at a community college, that doesn't bother me a bit.

Edit: And as I believe I've said before, I still prefer classes at 8 or 9.

I do too. Start classes at 8, get out at 3.

also, since it's relevant, here's my schedule. I think it's a fair draw...that walk from Fayard to White back to Fayard could get old quickly.

You seriously need to stop giving a **** about what people think of you. With the way you post, it would seem like YOU were the one living in Los Angeles. How much have you bitched and moaned about your so-called friends on this board? You're really living your life to please them or to appear a certain way for whoever you're trying to please?

Newsflash: Most people don't give a **** about you. Not you as in you. You as in general. People put ENTIRELY too much effort into living their lives for others.

                                Stop it. Good LORD.
