I had a few college football players contact me through Twitter while doing rosters for NCAA Football. They pretty much wanted their ratings jacked or wanted to be included on the roster. Thought that was pretty cool.

my goal in life is to become a sororistute so I can wear those oversized tan tops. Such a status symbol, but yet so comfortable.

What's a good amount to have in an emergency savings type account?

Just want to be prepared for anything in the future.

I was thinking something along the lines of 8-10k.

I've ceased to buy things as I reach that goal. I have a ton of bills and student loans that kick in by December too.

I've always heard 3 months of take-home pay.

It's tough to build, that's for sure.

It sure is. Especially living up here. For the most part, salaries are above average, but it doesn't make up for the cost of living difference.

As of now, I'm only able to put away on average $400 a month, on my salary, that doesn't seem like much at all. Very disheartening.

I've gone ahead and spread myself a bit too thin with my savings. I'm putting money onto 6 different savings goals (most importantly a wedding) as well as my retirement savings.

It's good to save, as I've got a good amount of money in my retirement accounts right now (for a 23 year old), and I'm making headway in my goals. Just because it takes you a long time to do doesn't mean you're not doing the right thing.

That's right. The wedding must be a difficult thing.

I don't usually regret decisions I make, but I definitely should have waited on a car. Without that, I could have fixed my savings situation in a year.

                      Oh well, it happens.

What kind of budget are you looking at for a wedding, if you don't mine me asking?

I think the last time my fiance plotted it out on a spreadsheet (we don't hide the fact that we're both giant dorks) I think it came up to 20k? My family has already saved a decent amount so I'm trying to save around 10k to help everyone out.

That, of course, is helped by the fact that we've set a tentative date in April 2013, so more than a year away at this point.

I understand wanting a car. I definitely want a new one to replace my 2000 Blazer which, honestly, I haven't treated the best in the world. But there's a huge amount of uncertainty with me since I don't know where I'll be next summer, and there's a decent chance I won't even need a car where I'll be living.

That's not so bad for a wedding. It shouldn't set you guys back much and you can most likely recoup a decent amount from guests.

I've always wanted something nice and took the plunge, I love it, but also think of how waiting a year might have made for a better move.

I've also thought about moving before. I hear Texas is great. I love NJ, but it's just too much. The fact is if I stay here for 2-3 years and get a salary in Texas of what I am making now, I'd live like a king over there, especially if I get my CPA.

We're going for a small, family-style wedding. Nothing fancy (we're not too fancy), just a lot of fun.

I'll probably be moving to the Northeast or Pacific Northwest, based on my fiance needing to find a job in Urban Planning. Luckily, it looks like I'll have job prospects both places, since I'm a software dev. I think she's gonna want to live in the city, so that removes a need for our cars.

If you mean NYC, good luck! I hate it. I live across the Hudson, but can't stand Manhattan. Also, you get a nice tax if you live in the city as well.

Pacific Northwest does not seem so bad. I'm dead set on Texas. I have heard nothing but great things about it from anyone who has been there, or lives there.

I'm sure we'll now bury him alongside our first one (which he actually attempted to dig up many, many years ago).
