Thanks for the feedback. I think I am going to try to get back into the MLB and NBA more. Rangers and Mavs fan. No way I could ever switch to the Dallas Cowboys to make it a trio of hometown teams. My loyalty to the 49ers runs way too deep to ever make that switch.

I call it pop although, I essentially only drink coke or sprite so I usually name exactly what I want.

Nope. When I go to a restaurant where I don't know what kinds of pop they have and haven't found the drinks in the menu before the waiter/waitress comes I'll ask if they have Dr Pepper and if they say not then I'll just say "Pepsi or Coke, whichever you have"

I call it pop too, even though I do realize how it sounds childish. Down here if you say "pop", people look at you like wtf? I usually just say what brand it is instead, unless refering to it in a broad sense, like "It's over there by the pop machines" or whatever.

I hate when they take forever to grade ****ing scantrons. I understand if it's a test comprised of essays that it's going to take awhile to go through them all and grade but when you just have to set the key and scan the sheets, there is no reason that it should take over a week to give the grades back.

Yup, scantrons take at most 10 minutes even with a 200 person class, I know this because I helped out a TA one time with the tests. Then it should take a day or two to get the grades up.

I never knew Michigan people had our own accent until my Dad and Stepmom went to California and people at a mall kept asking if they were from Michigan. I couldn't believe it when they told me lol, I had no idea there was a Michigan accent.

My roommate is a teacher and she would be greatly offended by this post.

It's sad because once you escape , there's the slight southern accent that just means "hey at one point this guy lived in the South, but he still uses big words and has a degree"...and then there's the Southern dialect which means "Hey this guy has a law degree, when he speaks , he pronounces three letters simultaneously, and even though he has a law degree it's from the south; he's basically got a junior high education."

In all my 33 years I have referred to it as pop. I have never used the term soda when ordering.

I prefer Pepsi to Coke (Coke is awful imo). Whenever I go to a restuarant I ask them. Do you serve Coke or Pepsi? One waitress said, "what's the difference?" There's a BIG difference.
