I may not be American but i'm celebrating LBJ!

One of my favorite presidents ever mainly because he was a giant of a man but flawed as all hell. If you're interested in the topic check out Robert Dalek's multi-volume biography of him.

Actually, most people in Ontario have today off thanks to our premier (who is derisively called Premier Dad because of his nanny state ways) created a holiday called Family Day. Pfft....

That's what bugs me. Why have these holidays if nobody honors them? The government can shut down whenever it wants (it doesn't save money, they're paid holidays), but nobody in the business community does.

So if everyone else stays open, the post office , etc. should be too... or they should make everyone close. Which would never happen lol. They should get rid of holidays that we as a country clearly don't care about.

New Year's? Yes time to drink and have fun!!! Who am I kidding gotta work

They shouldn't get rid of Holiday's, they should just stop trying to please every single culture that comes into the US. It's the United States, not (insert country). We celebrate our holidays and respect the others, but our holiday's are the most important.

Mods I hope none of that is viewed as political or anything of that nature. Clearly it's not intended for that, just a comment on the holiday "schedule" we currently use.

Good job Wayne State.

I have a cousin that played football for Wayne State. I believe he was a 4 year starter at LB. He had offers for D1 but wanted to stay home. I saw him play in the Michigan state finals, his Rochester Adams team won 28-0 and he scored all 4 TDs (he was QB and wore #37 lol, the rare QB/DE/LB)

Not sure why classes weren't cancelled here... All the grade/middle/high schools in the area are close due to snow, the roads are just horrible and the sidewalks aren't much better. It's been snowing since about 10am yesterday and doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon. And yet somehow no one thinks it's dangerous to have classes...

We got hit with way more snow than expected. The weather report early in the day said "flurries possible" and we ended up with 6"-8" which isn't bad, but it's so windy that the drifts are brutal. Took me about an hour and a half to shovel the driveway and sidewalk, it was so cold my MP3 player kept shutting down lol. Oh well, I need the exercise anyway.

My parents bought a 2010 last May, and I get priority dibs on it when I'm home on break. Well, except for over our Winter Break where I primarily drove our 2001 Dakota (which is extremely fun to drive in snow). I absolutely love everyone watching me drive down the street in the Challenger.

Fired up NBA 2k11 (PC) for the first time in awhile today. I remembered very quickly why I stopped playing it in the first place. Too many games where one team gets out to a big lead one quarter, only to go completely cold in the next and allow the other team to get a lead. I realize that happens in the real world too, but it seems to happen every single game for me. Not much fun.
