Re: Off Topic 2011
I just don't get country. All the songs sound the same and contain references or lyrics based on the following things:
Farming
Tractors
Beer
NASCAR
Trucks
"Country Girls"
Fishing
Campfires
Tennessee (no offense to OS Tennesseans)Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
Yeah bro and that's like 7 more things than rap does. rap is about ****ing , and splattering some cop who's the father of four's brains all over his impala, because he was in your "territory" etc.Comment

I'm no expert on country, but I doubt this is correct.
Besides, your boy Wocka (and most main stream rap) raps about NOTHING. Its all nonsense. I would say country is better than most mainstream rap

Re: Off Topic 2011
I like some country, but very little...
I usually won't even listen to it unless I've been drinking.. lol
The simplicity to a lot of country is what turns me off. I could pick up a guitar and play the chords to a lot of popular country songs out there...
Granted, there are some quality musicians, but the major focus is on vocals.. nothing that I consider "music".Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
Ridiculous. Listen to real country, not the pop country played on the radio. Which isn't even as narrow as this post makes it out to be. I honestly don't even think I've heard a NASCAR reference in a song ever.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
Equally ridiculous. There's some decent hip-hop out there. I don't really listen to it, but it exists. Again, avoid pop radio.
Oh, I got it. It was just too easy.Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
I wish I could tell you what references are in music you enjoy, but I can hardly understand the slurred "English"Comment

Re: Off Topic 2011
So bands/artists like John Mayer, Breaking Ben, and AC/DC, three non-rap artists/bands that I like (among many others), are slurred English? Interesting.Comment
