Anyone know of good ways to speed up a computer without having to wipe the entire thing out?

Not quite the same thing, but I only picked up a real guitar because of the Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II.

A testament to how good those games once were, before Activision decide to go the "milk the franchise dry" route.

How'd they milk it? I thought It was one of those things that were going to die out sooner or later. There's only so much that can be done with it outside of different music.

Activision has a problem with trying to force a franchise to be yearly. That was their problem. Eventually it probably would have died off, but they shortened that time by forcing one out every year when it makes even less sense than sports games. The company's ways of dealing with games is just bad.

Good point. While I enjoy it, it's also a thing I'd rather play with a group that alone, unlike most of my games.

Plus all of those spin off games didn't help either with Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, and 1 or 2 more I might be forgetting. They milked the **** out of that game.

What they should have done was take the Rock Band approach and release it every 2 years or so. That way there is a relative "fresh-ness" to the game.

The Tony Hawk games also suffered from the same yearly release cycle.

^Which is part of the reason why even though everyone thinks they could help Take Two on the sports side of things by buying them, their track record makes me think the rest of the company would suffer. I don't need yearly Borderlands, Midnight Club, Mafia, or GTA titles.

And yet Tony continues to say that what they've built is great... I'm with you though, those were good times early on.

Wonder if Insomniac just laughed at Activision after they left the Spyro games?

THPS2 and THUG are some of my favorite games ever. The rest before (I think) Project 8 were solid as well, but then it went down the ****ter.

Didn't you make a thread asking the same or a very similar question last year? Anyways, you can defragment the hard drive and clean up junk files. If that doesn't work, you can try a RAM upgrade. How much do you currently have in your computer?

Anyways, after going to Google to find out how I find out how much RAM I have, I right clicked My Computer and went to Properties. This is what came up at the bottom of the General tab:

Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz
1.79GHz, 256 MB of RAM

And yes, I'm just assuming you know what this means.

Actually, maybe that's a lot in Canada. Not sure about the RAM exchange rate.

256 MB of RAM When was your computer made, 2000? You really need at least 2 GB of RAM these days.
