This remains quite possibly the funniest sketch in TV history.

I've had KC BBQ, Memphis BBQ and Birmingham BBQ. The only thing left is Carolina BBQ. My favorite is Full Moon in Birmingham. I lived in Memphis for ten years, good stuff, but I am not a dry rub person unless it's ribs. Most that visit the area say Dreamland, but I like Full Moon in B'Ham the best.

In my studies, I've read many different things about Carolina BBQ and how it seems to be broken into many different styles by region, Some litterature says the north uses vinegar based mops, and the south uses mustard based mops, but I've also read that eastern and western north carolina also have their different styles.

Either way The Carolinas seem to have the most variety when it comes to BBQ as they use almost all styles.

Some day I'll make a point to get out there and experience it myself.

There are some minor differences in western Carolina (from Charlotte to the Appalachians) BBQ and eastern Carolina (Winston-Salem to the coast; Lexington, NC has the best in my opinion). I'm not exactly sure what they are, but you can taste the difference. There's an outstanding place called R.O.'s BBQ in Gastonia (15 minutes west of Charlotte). They used a vinegar based sauce and put BBQ slaw on their sandwiches which is incredible. They actually sell it at some of the local grocery stores around the area. I've always been a vinegar-based fan myself. I've only found mediocre at best BBQ out here so I don't even bother trying anymore.

Oooh... I'll be heading down to Charlotte to stop by Ikea next week. I might have to convince my fiance to go to that BBQ place in Gastonia.

EDIT: And done. I'll be getting some good ol' BBQ next Friday (or Saturday). Huzzah!

People on youtube are weird. So months and months ago I made a response on a video. It was liked to the point that it's one of the top responses and just now I find some guy telling me to shut the eff up.

                  "sigh"

I actually like the new look youtube btw the play button is always on the left hand side so that's not an issue. The black is far less obtrusive then the white color for the video box.

Oh and another thing, (not youtube related) I watched the 1969 Rose Bowl this morning. First of all, football back then was incredibly boring for the most part. The only reason I acquired this was because of OJ Simpson. Based on this game it seemed OJ WAS the USC offense at the time. The guy had blazing speed compared to everyone else and had a low center of gravity. Hell, he was even a great option on the pass out of the backfield as he ate up some big yards on swing passes.

Tis a shame the guy is a piece of crap and a murderer.

In job search news, I now have a short call with a recruiter from the NYC place to quiz me on some Java stuff, Monday at 4:45 (should last until 5:30 at the very latest).

Then, I just got an email that the Seattle place wants to call me at 6:30 for an hour interview that's going to be super in depth. The same day.

Should I reschedule one of them? I'm out of my element here. I haven't had multiple interviews in a day before.

Either way, everything's starting to come up GIGGAS.

                            -----

BBQ kicks ***. If you live in a place where you can get some good pulled pork, and you don't like BBQ, you're dead to me.

                            -----

Another aside, I just reported a post that called out the mods in a "humorous" manner, and here's what I wrote (someone'll get a kick out of this):

hilarious... oh wait, the other thing. tedious
