Heard 'Em Say/Touch The Sky/Golddigger is probably my favorite 3 song sequence on an album. All 3 of those songs are just fantastic. Touch The Sky being among my favorites.

If somebody can point me in the direction of a more consistently more good album since then, I would appreciate it. IMO Attention Deficit comes close, but it didn't have Nike Boots or Strings. Which again...taking more time to write and put together albums is not always a bad thing

This may not mean much to most people, but I actually met 'Legend' who calls into Finebaum every day to make a fool out of himself.

I graduated with his nephew and I didn't even know it..

Interesting conversation indeed... he's almost as big of a tool in real life.

My thing with rap, and maybe I haven't been exposed to enough of the "good stuff", is that a whole lot of what I've ever listened to seems to have a very narrow subject matter. Something to the effect of "I am awesome / I have a lot of money / I am attractive to women / I could potentially end another person's life should he do wrong by me" Which is fine and dandy, but not particularly interesting.

For instance, I really like (and this may be typical given where I first heard the track) the rap tune "They Reminisce Over You" from this year's Madden NFL 12 soundtrack. It's a chill vibe, lyrically interesting, and has a good beat and flow to it, IMO.

Of course, that I would name my favorite rapper as Eminem might fly in the face of everything I said in the first paragraph, but I digress.

Not at all. Eminem actually raps about something. It's not always about his perceived" haters" or his "swag" or any of that nonsense.

Look up Lupe or Wale's older stuff. I really liked Wale because he kind of shocked me that a rapper was actually talking about having a relationship with a girl rather than just relations, when he wasn't talking about ore important things.


also, JJ, the only track I REALLY like from MBDTF is All of The Lights...if It was anybody BUT Rihanna, it's be amazing.
