So I'm not sure if I ever expanded on this from late last week when I was offered that job I interviewed for on Thursday, but I accepted it. Then on Friday I was offered a job I really wanted that is more in line with my career goals. I thought since the job I accepted first was a temp job, and the other job doesn't start until January, that I could work the temp job for a few weeks then basically leave for the better opportunity.

Apparently that may not be the case, since I would only be working the first job for about 2 weeks before leaving, and I think they may want someone for a longer period than that. I still have to hear back from the recruiter I worked with to interview for that job, but it looks like I may have to try to survive without work for another few weeks until after the New Year. Man, no one told me trying to juggle different opportunities would be so difficult.

On an unrelated note, I'm going Xmas shopping with my mom today so that I can pick out a few things for myself from her, including an iPhone and probably some more businesss-type work clothes.

So last night I discovered I had a missed call and voicemail on my cell. However, the voicemail was just background noise (sounded like children playing). I looked at the number and didn't recognize it (829 area code) so went to the internet and tried a whole bunch of those supposedly free reverse phone lookup sites, but all I could figure out was that it was a landline. They didn't actually list the location and on the sites that had a map to show the location, it was blank. Finally did an area code lookup and the only result was for the Dominican Republic. Don't know what international call rates are down there, but I imagine someones parents aren't going to be to happy when they get their next phone bill.

Well, I gotta ton of stuff to do on the back end of this week so today and parts of tomorrow are going to be movie and sports day

I found some movies of interest to watch and will be watching them. So you can look in the movie thread to see what they are and such.

I slept like a baby last night and had a good 9 and a half hours. I'm fresh as a daisy. My GF is having a ton of problems sleeping lately though. She falls asleep but can't maintain it. Last night she only had 4 hrs sleep.

Maybe she sleep apnea.

it isn't that high. Relatively cheap. Now calling from Europe is way higher.

I wonder if Jimmer Ferdette start hitting game winning jump shots, what he will be called ? I swear in up state New York they have had him on the news everyday ALL YEAR LONG, every little thing he did, he was on the news up here.

Ugh, I went to order new contacts online today. Seemed easy enough, I used the same site that I used a few years back. Got a decent deal, $58 for 2 boxes. Then I immediately get a call (I don't answer my phone) and the voicemail says my order is on hold until I contact them. So my legal friend called them back for me and apparently my prescription expired in 2009 and I need a new exam. How long has this been standard? Plus it seems like I JUST did an exam a few years ago. Exams cost $85, they can just force you to take another exam in order to buy new lenses? That's not chump change for me, and unfortunately my friend scheduled my appointment for 9am on Dec 27 because she'll be in town and can come with me to make sure everything goes right. It's nice to have a friend that can help me with this crap, but man why does everything have to be such a hassle?

It's crazy to look at all the different voices that some voice actors have done in their careers. So many contrasting characters.

Yeah, and I didn't even know Uncle Phil was the voice of animated Shredder until a few days ago

Aren't you the same guy who is afraid of phones or some crap like that ? But anyway yeah you have to take eye exams for liability reasons to protect the company from being sued.

Don't matter if your prescription don't ever change, you still have to take an eye exam.
