    Re: Off Topic 2011

As far back as I remember having hardcover textbooks in my school system, we were required to cover them. My mom would use the brown grocery bag and put the logo on the inside so there was a clean slate to write on. By the end of the year, there would be all sorts of ridiculous things drawn and written on those covers. Hell, it was a form of flirting with all the girls to write little messages on each others' book covers. Those were the days...

I feel like that was such a GMSS post. Cheers, GMSS

So, you just can't be around a group of people? That has to be rough. Are you able to do things like go to sporting events, or is it mostly an issue if you have to be with a larger group of people that you're expected to interact with?

If I'm out of line with these questions, please let me know.

You're not out of line at all, no worries there. I haven't gone to sporting events since going to the MHSAA playoff finals at the Silverdome in Pontiac about 7 years ago. It's a degenerative issue that unfortunately may never get better. Oddly, I've discovered the medicine that helps, it's called Ativan, but for some reason my doctor refuses to prescribe it. I guess it is the kind of med that is easily abused, but it's weird to me that the doc has been trying for a decade to find what "works" while fully knowing that the specific med that works has already been identified.

I used to deal with something similar around my freshman/sophomore year of high school. Every time I walked into a room with a lot of people (cafeteria, auditorium, gym, etc.), I thought everyone was staring and saying stuff about me. It got to the point where I would stand outside of wherever it was and wait for one of my friends and walk in with them.

Up early as **** this morning, having coffee sitting near the tree in the living room. King Kong remake with Naomi Watts & Adrian Brody is on. 6 year old film and the effects are pretty damn good. Good film to have on in the background when your doing other things (if that makes sense).

Had my gf do all the wrapping of gifts the last week or so. Had the ones I bought solo wrapped by the stores. Screw gift bags, I know a lot of people use em' but it's cheesy & lazy. More so if you have kids, you want to see their excitement as they unwrap the gift not just pull it out of a damn bag.

I had to remark to my mom that wrapping presents seemed to be a lost art at my nephews last birthday part. It seemed like she was the only one who actually wrapped her present for him while all the other presents were in gift bags of varying sizes.
