Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Up to 228 @ 6'3
I suck!!!
I am trying to get back into things...I get a few days rolling then fall off the wagon which is conveniently located next to a cliff which then goes into a river that pulls me miles downstream
Every time I feel super fat my weight is 228, it's my ceiling lol (for now)

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Yeah I use olive oil as well or just the spray on stuff with good quality non-stick cookware where not much oil is needed.
I'm taking a de-load week off from the gym this week. It's been 3 months solid without a break so I like to do this every now and again to just recharge my batteries. I've done literally nothing for 3 days now and will probably throw in some cardio tomorrow and for the rest of the week but I'm not even touching a weight until next Monday. This is a long term lifestyle so I don't wanna burn out and I have a few small niggling injuries that I'd like to get over as well.Last edited by Jonesy; 10-24-2011, 07:49 PM.Comment

Yeah, I did that for 4 days last week Jonesy. Went back this morning like a beast.
It actually helps more to push over a plateau. I also have CrossFit stability Wednesday. So results are gonna get even better soon!!! Work muscle groups with stability exercises you never knew you had. Very humbling, but feels great. Constant high heart rate and sweat for 45 min straight.
Stoked! Cause the CrossFit trainer is fantastic, gives me homework, etc. and I believe in him, and he shows passion and belief in you.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 10-24-2011, 09:11 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
I'm not sure the last time I posted my official weigh in. I think my original starting weight was 232 (I'm 5'11), but then I gave up trying until my friend moved so I could then focus. My weigh-in the day she left was 227.5 and that was August 11th. The last few days I've checked in at 216.5 so I'm seeing progress but this is where it gets more difficult.
I haven't been doing a diet or exercise routine. Just trying to limit calories and eat a little smarter, having things like grilled chicken or turkey burgers. I don't cut out bread either, but I'll buy the low calorie stuff. Food calories have been much easier to limit than expected, it's the alcohol calories that get me. I have drinks every night, and during the week my alcohol calories are around 500-600. It's amazing that I've been able to lose almost 16 pounds overall without exercise or diet, while drinking nightlyWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Just have to be careful, because you can be losing necessary muscle as well in that process. It truly is a science.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Damn mate that's a lotta booze. No way I would lose weight doing that but GL to ya if it's working.
I'm not your dad and it's your life etc but that's a fair bit of alcohol to be consuming every night, hope you aren't becoming an alcoholic or anything.Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
I know, I just look forward to the nightly drinks before bed. Keep in mind 500 calories is about 5 light beers, spread out over like 6 or 7 hours.
My calculations in my head were like this:
1.5 shots of 80 proof vodka = 100 calories. 2 cans of lemon sparkling water = 0 calories. So 2 of these drinks is 200 calories total and then I finish up with 3 light beers, grab a bite and go to bed.
It's a nightly routine basically, I know it's not advised but it's something I'm not really looking to change.
edit: I've actually been reducing the amount I drink over the past couple years, I'm just not looking to eliminate it. A few years ago I was drinking a 12 pack every night. It was expensive, I've eased off quite a bit since those days.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Everyone's metabolism is different. If I did that drinking every night, it would sabotage my recent weight loss effort of 20lbs in 10 weeks. I've heard dieticians that I've visited with that have stressed to me that alcohol is just empty calories. And if it was me, I'd have the munchies after the drinking to double the calorie input. Like I said, everyone's metabolism is different, mine is very slow.
I go to the doctor tomorrow and I'm hoping with my weight loss that I will be taken off one of the medications.Last edited by roadman; 10-25-2011, 10:47 AM.Comment

***Fatty Rant Below***
I've figured out my biggest problem with my weight loss endeavor. I feel like I'm at the bottom of a huge *** mountain looking up.
About 3 years ago I was 200 lbs at 6 ft tall with 9-10% body fat. I used to lift 5 days a week and run 2 miles 4-5 tmes a week. I have all the knowledge I need in order to lose the weight, I just feel like I can't. My energy levels are at an all time low, my metabolism has always been on the slow side (thanks genetics). I get home from work after a 45 minute commute and just feel dead tired.
Anyway I guess I just needed to get that off my chest. Now I need to stop crying and get my *** in gear.Battle.net: xXKING08Xx

My body is stupid. For like 3 weeks I did everything as close to 'perfectly' as I could do. Hit my cal goals, lifted 5 or 6 days each week, 45 mins cardio each day etc and my weight didn't budge an inch. I take a deload this week and kinda slacked on my diet on the weekend and haven't done much exercise this week and I hope on the scale this morning and I'm down 2lbs. I'll be damned if I know what the hell is going on but I'll keep slugging it out...Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
I know where you are coming from man. It can be a bit daunting at first but you just have to focus on the here and now and do what you can to improve things even if they are only small steps because it all ads up over time. You obviously have the knowledge of what to do and how to do it so there's nothing left to it but to do it!!!

Your second part happened to me too. It is a plateau you hit. Thus you need to do something to "shock the body and mind". Your mind being energized and such does help as well. Mind over matter is legit.
Thus I am starting the CrossFit stabilization training. And man is it ever working and jump-starting it again. And has me thinking more clearly, etc. Also the scale will "lie" when you are gaining muscle as you burn fat.
Cause my weight has been a steady 223-227, and my pants size dropped again.
Go figure.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

It's so stupid when I think about I mean it's not like I'm trying to make a weight class or something so what I weight is actually totally irrelevant but I still stress over it and can't bloody help it.
I mean it's not like you see someone who is ripped to shreds and go "yeah sure that's guy is ripped but it must suck for him that he's 220lbs" or anything.Comment
