    Good luck. Keep us updated.

Is it just me or do almost every drug they advertise on tv that is supposed to "help" you, has a long *** list of possible side effects. And most of the time the side effects are worse than the problem they are trying to fix.

Eh, without touch / ability to feel, you wouldn't notice any concept of pain and probably either break your bones from positioning yourself the wrong way too long, or bleed to death from unnoticed cuts.

On your situation, I do hope it improves. I can't fathom it, honestly.

I was going through my cabinet and found that I also have the zicam nasal gel. I don't remember if I ever took it but that is defiantly going in the trash.

I had a very similar cold once. It was right before I flew to Chicago and it ruined my whole trip. This would be my first taste of Chicago style pizza and I couldn't taste anything. I was also going to eat at Rick Bayless' restaurant and called it off because I couldn't taste anything.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

              That's what my wife said.

The weird thing is texture and visuals plays a huge role in what you eat (at least for me).

Also, I can still tell if something is salty, sour, bitter, etc (whatever the four basic tastes are). From what I understand, your nose basically is respobisible for "flavor".

I can't stand pickles and initially my wife didn't believe me about how bad it was, so to prove my point, I opened up the pickle jar and put a slice in my mouth. I couldn't taste any flavor, but it still made my mouth pucker a bit and between that and the texture of the thing, I had to spit it out, though I tasted no "pickle taste", it was just that salty/bittery taste that got me.

Fear Factor has been cancelled for at least a decade, right?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

But on the other hand, you wouldn't lose a fight!

In terms of the senses, I'd rank them...

                    1. Sight
                    2. Hearing
                    3. Feeling
                    4. Taste
                    5. Smell

Good luck to you, though. Trev. It would suck to not be able to taste anything again, though it may help you to eat more healthy, I suppose, haha.

Re: Loss of Smell and Taste

Damn dude, hope everything turns out alright.

My sinuses are basically wrecked from years of Vicks Sinex abuse. I've had a deviated septum for as long as I can remember, so when I sleep, and even during the day once in a while, my left nostril basically shuts itself when it gets too clogged. To me, the feeling is worse than suffocating, so I have to sit up in bed and take like 3 or 4 sprays to clear it out again. Once it clears out, I occasionally have to use a couple more sprays to open it more.

On the bottle it recommends to use it like 2 or 3 times when you are stuffed up, and not anymore after that. Well, for the past 10 years or so, i've been using it multiple times daily. I'd like to have surgery to fix it, but insurance considers it cosmetic, despite the fact that it would help me freakin breathe.
