    SPOKEO.COM *PLEASE READ*

    Hey guys. We got this email from our IT guy at work and I thought that I would pass it along here.

    a friend of mine told me about a website called spokeo.com that is a new online USA phonebook w/ personal information: everything from pics you’ve posted on Facebook or the web, your approx. credit score, home value, income, age, address, family member names. You can remove yourself by searching your name, find your page, copy the URL, then go to the bottom right of the page and click on the Privacy link to remove yourself. I would search for your full name and nickname since both may be out there.
    I went on there and found myself listed 3 different times at the 3 addresses in which I have lived.I was listed twice at one address under my full name and shortened name. While some of the info is hidden unless someone signs up, the cost is only $3 a month to have full access to your info.

    Anyways, thought I would share. If you need assistance on getting yourself removed, please let me know and I'll be glad to help.

      Hey CB thanks for the heads up, they have me listed as still with my ex wife at her apartment which I never lived at. How do you get stuff like this taken off? PM if you don't want to post it here. Thanks again.

          They had me under an address that I haven't lived at since 2002...unreal.

              Click on your name. Then copy the URL at the top of the page. In the bottom right hand corner of the page, there is a tab that says PRIVACY. Click on that and paste the URL where it says to. Provide your email(you need to) and then write out the phrase. You'll get a confirmation email in which you need to open to click on a link that will remove you from the site.

                      yeah, my ex-wife and I have been divorced since 2002 and it had me listed there. Its insane. **** like this pisses me off.

                              Eh, really doesn't bother me none. In todays day and age, if someone really wants to find you they can whether the info is all in one place or not.

                              It has my address and age approximate right, but it says I'm married and make $204k a year Yeah, I wish I made that much, but if I did no way I'd be living at this address.

                                  It's crazy because I was only 12 at the time...I don't recall even ordering anything under my name to be shipped there.

                                          Yeah, like someone said, people will find you if they want. They had me at my parents' house, where I haven't lived since summer of 2001. Hell, my parents don't even live there anymore as of a month ago. They missed the 6 addresses I've had since then, lol.

                                          That being said, I removed myself because it only takes a couple clicks and 5 minutes.

                                                      I'm not on there. Neither is my cousin. I did remove my mom from there though.

                                                          lol, that reminds me of when I lived with my mom at her old house. We'd occasionally get mail for random people who didn't live there. Some was actually addressed to the previous owners (even 15+ years after they moved out), but the rest I have no idea. Some of it would be addressed to a T Carson so we always joked it was for our dog, Thor.
