College: Michigan/Ohio State

In the US, at least. I'm sure that there are better rivalries overseas somewhere.

The Lakers and Celtics have been competing against each other for championships since the 1960s. They've had 3 different eras:
Russell/West
Bird/Magic
Pierce/Kobe

Then the Bears/Packers are the oldest rivalry in professional sports! A rivalry of to division teams 3 hours away.

These two rivalries are prior to ESPN.

Russell/West
Bird/Magic
Pierce/Kobe

Then the Bears/Packers are the oldest rivalry in professional sports! A rivalry of to division teams 3 hours away.

These two rivalries are prior to ESPN.

Yeah, I mean Duke and UNC have been playing since the 1910's and are only 8 miles apart. That rivalry outdates Coach K/Dean Smith AND ESPN.

What about the Yankees/Red Sox? I don't exactly recall the Red Sox lighting up the world in the 1920s, 1950s, 1970s...

Also, I'm speaking of rivalries on a national scale...so yeah, I listed the Bears/Packers because that is definitely the oldest rivalry in the NFL from 2 of the oldest franchises with the most HOF players...even though that rivalry may be considered regional nowadays.

I don't think you can compare Bears/Packers to any of the rivalries in the poll. I was actually surprised it was in the poll to begin with. It's an old rivalry between two classic teams that play in the same division, but from a national perspective it doesn't come close to UNC/Duke, Yanks/Sox, etc. How many great or memorable Bears/Packers games have there been? Heck, the NFCCG this year was their 1st Playoff meeting in like 50 years. Good rivalry, but it's more of a regional rivalry IMO.
