    I know you're a big guy.....but you will love the S5.
I'm on the verge of a new Q5 or Q7 right now....but as for passenger vehicles...it's S5 or R8(LOTTERY!...) only for me from now on.

    I love my S5.

On another note...did you guys see those first 10 Tesla Model S's roll out?

Saw the Tesla's the other day. There's a Tesla place here. Pretty sweet.

Going to take an S5 for a ride this weekend or next. I really liked the A5 from the day the hit the streets, but F it, might as well get the S model.

A guy who lives a couple houses down from me has an R8.. I am not totally sold on the looks, but that's a lot of car. It's essentially a super car. It has an exquisite sound... I think if I had that car, I'd be dead in a fiery crash within a week.

I did, I bought the G and the EX. Love them, Infiniti really makes a great car, and you get a lot of bang for the buck with them. I've just always liked the Audi 5 series. But yes, I have a car obsession, probably a side effect of living in Southern California, we're car crazy here.

Good move on your part, luckily I already have the house.

I graduated from an A to an S within one year.
I loved the A5, but I got a call from the dealer I use that the last 2010 S5 was available for a great price if I wanted to trade in my A5(this happens when you buy 4 Audi's in 2 years )....
It stemmed from when I bought my wife's A6 and traded it in(actually...the dealer bought it) a year later with just 3000 miles on it.

Now...onto the last part of your post.....
          If that's true...stay away from the R8.
We need you here on O.S.!

There pretty cool, my friend has a SS. But if i were you i wouldnt buy one, Best bang for you buck would be an 06 or 05 GTO, same power, better gas, and would have more money to spend on upgrades, exhaust, headers, intake, wheels, tires everything. Camaro is cool and all but really crowded on the inside and the blind spots are horrible. The GTO is just nice all around. Plus only about 12,000 06 GTO's and 13,000 05 GTO's were made, not very often do you see one, plus it looks like a sleeper, but once you hit that peddle you hear all 400 horses come alive, just an amazing car.

I have one and love it. I look forward to driving it every day. The blind spots are an issue at first as mentioned above, but you will get used to them quickly. As for the GTO, I used to have one, but the styling of the Camaro kills it. If your coming from a truck, I would make sure to test drive one first as the height difference maybe an issue for you being so low to the ground.

I use to love the Camaro's styling, till I've seen them on the road every day. So many people have one, the styling is old to me at this point.

Give me an LS1 F-Body 02 SS over the 2010+ Camaros.

Some lady hit my car a few weeks ago, sad day indeed. Nothing major, but it sucks when your car has the first hit. Appraiser came to take a look today, see what his estimate is.

My main thing was my wheel, she reversed into me and took of a chunk off one of the spokes. Love my wheels.

                      Re: OS Cars Thread

I've driven both the V6 and V8 SS Camaro and they're decently quick. I was more impressed with the V6, simply because the amount of power it had for only six cylinders.

I'm a Chevrolet homer and I would still rather have my SS Cobalt.

Then again, I've upgraded the supercharger, replaced injectors and pulleys, exhaust, and had it tuned for the Stage 2 kit at the Chevrolet dealership.

When I first got it, I was harder on it than I am now. I raced it at the local drag strip at the "midnight madness".

I can cut 8.9 e/t in 1/8 of a mile, roasting the tires through third gear.

I did get put in my place once, when on the way up to Tennessee. A guy in a Mustang Cobra handed my *** to me, but man that thing sounded mean.

I would like to know how much money he had tied up into it.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to inspect the frame of a car? I'm looking into buying a salvage title, can use some tips. And yes, I understand salvage titles do not have resale value.

I'm still waiting to see what they are going to do about my car. If they total it out, I may go back to a truck this time. I'm assuming they will, because it will need to be put on a frame stretcher to move it about an inch and the airbags deployed. It's expensive to replace those..

The car is still worth 5.5-6k wrecked like it is.. I've been doing some research.

I don't think weighing repairs vs blue book value is going to cause them to total it. It's going to be whether or not they want to go through the trouble.. It looks a hell of a lot worse than it is.

Pop the hood and check the corners and make sure nothing is bent around the edges.

Park the car on a level surface and walk around it and make sure it sits level.

Look at the sunroof (if it has one) and see if it closes properly.

There's really not a secret to it and a lot of frame damage is hidden or can be repaired. Outside of doing a visual inspection around and under the car, there's no way of telling. You can usually spot it, if it's bad enough to affect how the car's going to operate.

IF they total my SS, I may look to use the gap money to buy a cheap gas saver car (probably some sort of Honda) and then go back with another truck...

This is the direction I would like to go..
