Is anyone into car detailing and can link me to what products they use? I just got a 2020 Santa Fe and want to do a lot better on keeping this one clean. Interior and exterior. I still want to keep it on the budget end of pricing though.

I'd like to know about interior stuff as well. It seems like a chore!

But I do wash and detail my own car. My products are a little expensive, though. After washing and drying, I use CarPro Reload once a month for the paint and lights (this is the expensive stuff), CarPro Perl for the tires (after every wash), and I use ONR (can't remember exact one off the top of my head) and Meguiar’s Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax for windows. I also use ONR for my rims once in a while.

This is my routine:

Suds soak with a foam blaster (Chemical Guys) and Mr. Pink wash to get off any loose dirt and try to loosen up the tough areas.
Rinse

I use two buckets (one with soap and one to rinse off the mitt/brushes in before applying more soap)

Tires & Rims - I have a brush for my tires as well as my rims - something soft for rims, but you still want a little bit of firmness to get off any caked on dirt or debris)
Rinse

Hand Wash - I use a mitt and Meguiar's Gold Class for the body/windows itself. Typically start with the roof, work my way down to the bumpers. Empty the buckets and start fresh for the sides. YMMV, but I usually do two scrubs/cleans per area.

Dry - YMMV and I would categorize this as optional. I have a bunch of waffle towels that I use to use more frequently to prevent any water spotting thanks to Subaru's paint. I'll occasionally whip it around the neighborhood for an air dry. Mostly I'll just go back and touch up any noticeable spots by hand or with a quick detailer.

Windows - I use Invisible Glass since it is ammonia free and my windows are tinted. It doesn't leave any noticeable streaks or residue so it works really well for me. Plus, its fairly cheap and easy to find.

Interior is honestly much easier to me. There's a ton of "quick detailers" for interiors that will do the job well. I use a shop-vac to clean the seats/mats, but there might be a better solution because that's my least favorite part.

Did you get applique on the coat? Just curious if you would need/want to wax.

Thanks for all tips! I have a cart of various rags and towels from the Rag Company. Then some grit guards, Invisible Glass, Meguiars Interior and Wheel cleaner plus a brush on Amazon. I already had some Meguiars Wash & Wax and I was going to stick with that.

I got it used so it probably needs a decent waxing. I might just pay a local detailer to come do that. I'm not sure I have that kind of patience to do it on my own.

I saw videos of people using the foam blaster, but not sure if I want to get one of those or not.

2020 Santa Fe SEL. Used with about 9k miles on it. It was a rental before which people might be cautious of, but with only 9k miles and the remainder of the 10/100k mile warranty I was not worried. Was about $23,500 OTD. I sold my 2015 Colorado which pretty much paid for it. Got a kid on the way and the POS in the back of the pic wasn't going to be our "family" vehicle.

I was 50/50 between a Santa Fe and a Rav4. Some might think I'm crazy for not going Toyota, but besides perceived reliability the Hyundai offers so much more in features and safety for the price.

I didn't end up going through with it, but they offered $9,100 for my POS Escape. Dealers, KBB, Vroom, etc offered $4500-$5000. They are just crazy right now on some cars. Ended up selling my truck because I didn't want to take on a loan and frankly didn't need it. Luckily we really only need one car so keeping the Escape is more for convenience when needed.

In my opinion, the Kia SUV's are some of the best values in the entire automotive world right now. They're well-built with a solid warranty, have all the bells-and-whistles anyone would need/want, and are a screaming value, especially by today's hyper-inflated new car sticker price standards. To me, the Korean automakers are today what the Japanese automakers were in the late 80's/90's (best value vehicles in the biz). I'd have made the same purchase as SuperBowlNachos.

And also (this is obviously going to be a bit of a controversial opinion) most SUV's basically look alike anyway. Some have some distinctive features but I don't think anyone is really winning the SUV design war by a significant margin at this point. A body-on-frame SUV is a body-on-frame SUV. I personally can't tell one from the next.

The 2021 got a new engine and body redesign (not that the 2020 isn't flashy)

If you can hold off I'd definitely wait until those come up used if you need to save some cash.

I sold my last two leases to ALGo. Very similar to carvana and vroom.

I found ALGo and Vroom had better offers.

2018 Dodge Charger 392. I put about 3k in my pocket.

2018 Dodge Durango RT. I came out of pocket 1k.

Do u mean unibody? The only real affordable body on frame suvs are the 4runner and wrangler. The other few ones start at like 60K+

I bought this baby 2.5 weeks ago. 2001... 33K original miles..

Almost showroom quality.. it is a fun car only.. Truck in the background is my daily driver even though I work from home.

Traded in a black 2000 TA for the truck like 6 years ago and regretted it.... been looking for 4 years for a low mile beauty..
