More like Tesla triangle. What the hell is that?

Anyway, just flashed a tune on my vehicle and it runs like a dream. Much better throttle response, reduced rev hang, and linear power (plus raised boost targets). Can't wait till I get a cold air intake and intercooler on this, as well as a short shifter.

Did an oil change this weekend. The first one after installing the Fumoto oil valve during my previous oil change. Damn, that was a dream.

I've tried out a couple so far and this one works for me, using the CD mount. It sticks out a little more than I would like, my hand sometimes hits it when I go to shift, but it's been the best so far for me. It does block the radio preset controls and it's hard to see the button for the fans. I use either the steering wheel or the dial for changing stations though so that doesnt bother me and I can still get to the fan controls well enough.

It sits at very good height, dont have to really take my eyes off the road to look at maps and it's easy to reach if I need to touch something.

Not perfect but it works well enough for me.

I may have mentioned it already, but I tinted my windows. 45% windshield, 20% front, 5% rears.

You can do your windshield in CA or you need a medical note?

I had my WRX windows tinted this past January. The backs are legal and the fronts are the same as the back. In VA we can only legally do windshields if we have a medical note for skin cancer.

Sadly, what I'm doing on mine is illegal in California. The person who tinted my windows though tinted his and his wife's windows five years ago with the same percentages, and he has yet to be pulled over for it.

Yeah, I think you'd have to get pretty unlucky (or run into a cop on a bad day) to get nailed for an illegal window tint. I've honestly never really understood why it was illegal anyway.

Windshield would be fairly obvious I would think. Plus, anybody doing an inspection is going to fail that most likely.

In VA at least, tint isn't part of the safety inspection, it's up to the cops to regulate. And I've found that it really just depends on the area and the cops there. When I lived in Arlington, I had near limo tint and never got a single ticket. Then I moved a bit further out from the city and started getting tickets fairly often.

The tint guy I took mine too last year said he wouldn't recommend doing the windshield because of inspections unless I had a medical note. I think only the top portion (above the rearview mirror) can be tinted anyway which seems like a waste of money. Windows themselves I've never heard anyone being failed. But, like you said, you can still pass and get pulled over.

I'm not worried about getting pulled over for tints. With light coming through the windshield the front windows look a little lighter anyway. But yeah, I wasn't going to chance anything too dark with the local police.

Anyone use a rear/dash cam on their car? Specifically one which replaces your rearview mirror entirely.

So the front of the mirror(facing the windshield) would be where the dash cam faces. And the mirror itself seems to just be a direct feed of the rear cam.

                          Similar to this

I'm thinking of getting one(boxing day sale?), but not too sure about how good it'd be. And installation seems like it'll be a pain, might be easier just getting a mechanic to do it.

I have it built into my car and it's great. Wider field of view and much easier to backwards park which I do 99% of the time.

The one built in though has a system where I can see above video of my car which has been awesome.

So you don't mind having the entire rearview mirror turn into a mini screen basically?

I'm probably not getting the advanced ones, just a $100 one from Amazon to see how it goes. Just hope the wiring and installation if the camera isnt too bad.

Installed a new pedal spacer and short-shifter in my car yesterday. Honestly, I thought this is something I'd have to pay to take a mechanic to do, but I was up to the task and made it happen. Total process took me maybe six hours though. If I did it again and understood everything, I could likely do it under three without question. Ripping apart my entire center console again is something I would prefer not to do anymore though, heh.
