Drove my step mom's new 2012 Toyota Camry.

She upgraded from a 2010 Corolla.

It's not for me, but man that thing is clean.

Am I the only person that really doesn't give a damn about most features in cars? Just give me a car that is fun to drive, has a radio, and I'm good. I don't need any fancy gadgets, GPS, hand-free navigation, etc. They just run up the price and I couldn't really see using them, anyways. I get in a car to drive (and I have fun doing it), not to do other things.

When you join the real world this will change and some of those things become necessities.

The luxuries are by far worth it. Although pricey, best decision I ever made was getting a fully loaded Maxima. It is a joy to drive and the features make it so much better....nothing like having heated seats and steering wheel in the winter!

You might be.

It's good to be able to see 5 miles(that is not the good part) of taillights and just jump off your regular route and have your sweetie(the nav system voice) say..."recalculating route" to find you an alternative through roads and towns you might have never navigated before.

Bluetooth hands free phone.....while I can definitely go my ride without using the phone....is nice to have.

...and lo and behold....both of my cars are a lot of fun to drive!

(I'm sure before A.C. became "standard" in vehicles...somebody said..."is it just me...or do you really need A.C. in your car....you have windows!")

That was TOTALLY me before I got my truck now. First vehicle I have ever had with working A.C. and now. I dont know how I lived without it. lol.

Looking at all the new cars, the top of the line packages really are appealing but Its not a MUST buy for me. If I get a killer deal on the full navigation/Bluetooth/etc... then cool, but my car doesnt need it.

I used to never run the AC in my car, but I have a decent drive to work.. during the middle of summer, I use it..

I won't even ride my motorcycle to work, this time of year.

Same here for me. Summer time in Northern Michigan is hell with all the humidity now, I just turn on the A.c. and i'm less angry while driving.

I'm with you. I just need a car that's good on gas, reliable and hopefully safe. I just need a radio, but don't care about fancy audio systems, gadgets, accessories....you name it. It's meaningless to me. I have my own GPS and I hardly use it unless I go to a place I've never been too. I wouldn't spend extra to have these things in the car.

I actually don't even need a car that's fun, just one that doesn't break down and can handle the weather here. In other words, I'm probably the Toyota Corolla (or Honda Civic) base model (automatic) kind of guy.

Went on some test drives this past Friday. Drove the Focus and a Dodge Dart.

Focus: Really really was impressed with the drive quality. The entire car just felt connected to the road and connected to you. Steering input was great. Car had some nice get up to get into traffic and was really quiet to the outside world.

Dart: I drove a 6 speed manual and honestly, I was not impressed at all. 1st gear is an absolute creeper gear and 2nd is not much better than that. Drove nice, rode nice. I just couldn't get over the fact that the engine didn't seem connected at all to the transmission.

Really really leaning towards the Focus. Just going to be a matter of finding one I want really and hoping the bank will give me the money.

Currently looking to buy a 89 or 90 5.0 Mustang to travel back and forth to college. Plus getting 28 miles to the gallon, and pushing decent horsepower is pretty awesome, and on the weekend, i can drive my Chevelle around

I had an '88 notchback 5.0 LX when I was in college (long time ago.) I got in soooo much trouble in that car! Between the performance mods and the stereo system, I was a true nuisance lol.

Haha right on man, i ended up buying a 92 z28 Camaro with the 350 corvette motor. and boy is it fast hah, runs 14.5 in the 1/4 while the 5.0 Mustangs at best ran 14.8, not much of a difference but i just love my Camaro hah, anyway yeah i havent been in trouble yet with it or my Chevelle, but i am only 18 so i got time

Very nice indeed! You definitely have time for trouble lol. Funny thing is, you're the same age as my oldest son, and even funnier is I catch myself repeating to him the same speeches I got when I was young. Either way, enjoy your toys, sounds like fun.

I still haven't grown out of my speed demon ways, just a little more tamed... Now I just catch flack from my friends and co-workers because I have a Porsche Cayenne TS with 2 child seats in the back!

My other toy is a '72 Olds 442 W-30, that I'm restoring - I don't share this one though.
